RT -$780 plus any in play winnings.

APAT Qualifier good fun until I ran into a bigger ace ... fair enough.

Played loose - felt ahead - was behind!

Fired up the Betfair $50+5 turbo to soothe myself.

L

aye sorry about that -- previous hand I had A8 hearts top pair and a flush draw - your play was creative and had the whole table very, shall we say nervous  ;D

... no problems ... it was a fun table ... perhaps I should have folded it and kept people on their toes!

In the Betfair $50+5 turbo ... I flopped top set ... but lost to a flush draw ... as is the way!

Looking forward to Saturday Night ... and making the right calls!

Ambitions for the night:

Watch Scotland beat Holland at football.

Purchase a King Henry VIII costume.

Win a poker tournament - not sure what to play yet - was going to try to qualify fo I-poker $1m g"tee but satelittle is a ridiculous $50+5 re-buy with 5 min levels - what is that about!?!

RT -$855 plus any winnings.

No joy in the $45k g"tee on i-poker - getting nowhere and elected not to re-buy as I ran 99 into QQ.

Now playing the $12.5k - $5 re-buy.

First break 29th from 650 from 953. Nearly triple the average chips.

Scotland 0 Holland 1 ... the vorpal blade from Holland cutting deepest.

Scotland had their chances, some of the woodwork, some snatched at, the Dutch finished the game in clinical style.

England at football 10/10 : England at One Day Cricket 3/10 - what are they doing!?!

Henry VIII - costume when for £69 + 8 postage - stuff that ...

Could be a late night of poker and football with the South American games on.

Uruguay looking so much better than Colombia.

Looking forward to Paraguay Vs Argentina.

Break 2

20th of 294 : 32.5k vs 15.5k

Played pretty loose and failed to catch anything for first 45 mins of level, but finally rewarded with a couple of flushes and all the loose play worth something.

Getting tempted to have a bet of Paraguay vs Argentina ... Maradona = clown.

Break 3

18k vs 36k

Looking to be aggressive - not really getting the cards

110th of 128 left - 100 paid.

ATTACK

Paraguay playing some good stuff - hit the post twice - cannot take much more of the woodwork tonight!

Break 4

77k vs 86k Average

26th of 53 left.

Lost races to get into trouble - won races to get back in shape.

Called a buton push with AJ vs 67 which held up.

Paraguay 17 mins to go ... Veron off ... could be a sweet night!?!

Session 5 part 2

469k vs 158k Average

1st of last 29

Massive hand with JJ into Jxx rainbow.

Opponent bets I flat call - river is a ten - now two spades - I decide to kill things with an all in - called by TT.

Lost a bit trying to kill short stacks ...

Blinds nows 6000/12000(1200) so going to be action packed.

Break 5

RT -$599 due to Paraguay win.

Poker still very well in play: 2nd of 20.

477k vs 229k average - blinds 12500/25000(2500)

Lost everything to short stacks - though never ahead - couple of races 0 from 2.

Blinds likely to create carnage!

RT -$440

Final table 3rd place at the start but everyone in play. (But only 11BBs)

TT UTG I flatted and missed.

QQ raised and took the blinds.

AQ in big blind has to call the late position K6 push ... and off course K6 becomes two pairs.

Next hand TJo loses to 47o ... 10 minute levels feeling more like a turbo.

10th from 953 ... but feeling like a defeat.

Good run Louis.

Cheers mate - just cannot get over the line!

Got a stack - looked to kill short stacks - lost all the 40/60 shots.

Then AQ vs K6 for the chip lead with 9 left ... and riverred.

Bottom line is - this was always a concern with the tournament - so I cannot really complain.

Feeling a bit more creative on the tables at the moment which is good.

Feel like closing this year down early - it feels like I will end the year at +/- $1

What about England in the ODI"s - just nothing there.

Job done in the tests but this is looking like 0-7!

Yeah getting over the line is the killer, especially when the tourneys become major Donkaments at the end, but even the best structures tend to end in push or fold mode at the finish, and then it is about getting your chips in first and winning the races.
Cricket - Ashes were great, not quite the 2005 series, but still gripping. The one dayers well, the least said. We are very poor, particularly with the bat. Whatever you say about Pieterson, we don"t half miss him. Got tickets for the Chester le street game, think it will be all over by the time that one comes around! It also clashes with an APAT league game, so I might sell "em on! Hows that for dedication.
Playing a live local event tomorrow, pretty decent structure, really looking forward to it. If I run good you"ll hear about it, if not you wont  ;)

... need a pretty long structure to take the donk out of the endgame ... or more creative play (I think I will work on that).

The end of the Poker Million and Sunday Warm up feature better poker - though I guess that means aiming at c$200+ buy in tournaments.

The $50k/$45k g"tee on I-poker is a shovefest at the end ($50 re-buy - average c$130)

Looking at the $1m g"tee - lots of the sats are turbo strucutres which is annoying.

All this said - no matter the structure you need to win your races when they matter. (Avoiding races - by stealing more another thing to work on.)

Cricket : Bopara - wrong answer : Not sure about Owais Shah - though his strategy to take Denly out of contention surely GENIUS.

Feel for Strauss - what can he do??
