... whilst naming this ... I was thinking of the following ...

The idea is that you come up with 8 "exceedingly good" tips for the Fitba.

I will post tomorrow morning ... but I thought a good idea to get the debate going.

Scottish Picks.

My Saturday morning ritual used to be sitting in a Walthamstow greasy spoon with the Racing Post.

At the time the Scottish Football pundit was Stuart Carruthers ... who went on an epic run of punting against Gretna ... (who won every week) ... and then he disappeared ... where is he now?

Business end of the season now.

Scottish Div 1.

In Scottish division one - St Johnstone are top the league but it is a real stumble to the line and Partick are the team to give them a run for the top spot ... they are away to Dunfermline who really should be up at the top ... 8 match form ... Partick top ... Dunfermline bottom. There is an obvious line of form to "worry" - last they met Partick 2 Dunfermline 3 - but since this game Partick 9/12pts, Dunfermline 0/9pts in the league.

Partick - 7/4 Hills - represent good value.

Scottish Div 2.

Peterhead - Canbet 69/50 (very long) Betfair 1.4/1 Bet365/VC 6/5 ...

Peterhead - my pre season tips are sitting third - outside run for the title - and finally showing some good form ... at home to East Fife who seems to beat rubbish but lose to anyone good. On 31/1/2009 : East Fife 0 Peterhead 3.

Scottish Div 3 - 4/6 Generally Available

E Stirling - 4/6 - are on a good run (outside chance of championship) at home to 9th place Berwick whp have nothing to play for. 8 match form - E Stirling 15pts Berwick 8 points.

So a nice little treble ...

I am tempted to Add Queens Park - Canbet 53/50 Betfair 1.04/1 ...

Queens Park are second bottom but travel to Stanraer who are 13 points below them in the league and shipping goals (albeit a tiny bit tighter in the last few games). It wouldn"t surprise me if they won by a few - but I will leave this alone.

I have gone with the treble at 8.625/1 on Hills ...

With a mythical £10 ... I would split.

Partick 7/4 - 2.5 pts
Peterhead 69/50 - 2.5pts
E Stirling 4/6 - 2.5 pts
Treble 8.625/1 - 2.5pts

So what is going to "happen" in England?

I will be very interested in what the Racing Posts tips in Scotland today.

Bosnia are 11/10 to beat Belgium tomorrow night - I think this is outstanding value.

They played in Belgium at the weekend - Belgium 2 Bosnia 4

Belgium really need to win to have a shout in the group for second place ... Spain are well clear.

Why not a repeat score?

Bosnia"s last two games before this (friendlies):

(a) Slovenia 4-3
(h) Aremnia 4-1

Last home qualifier:

(h) Estonia 7-0

Bosnia have lost to Turkey (1-2) away and Spain (0-1) away - but looks like it should be more like 4/5

Pretty sure the Racing Post will tip it up tomorrow ... get on tonight.
