They have been rearranging the casino, mainly to accommodate a new cardroom. They were telling me a few weeks ago that the GUKPT wants them to take an event, so I guess they should be able to accommodate APAT. Haven"t seen the new layout yet - 70+ doesn"t sound too promising, but perhaps they could make special arrangements for a big event, commandeering some of the eating area, for example, like they do in Brighton. I"ll let you know what its like when I next play there.

Gunwharf Quays is a super location with marina, loads of restaurants facing the sea, nightclubs, cinema, bowling. Its also a designer outlet centre, for those who are interested in that kind of thing - can"t see the attraction myself. More interestingly, for some incredible views, you can go to the top of the Spinnaker Tower, the highest publicly-accessible structure outside London, higher than Blackpool Tower, London Eye, etc, etc and walk on the largest glass floor in Europe over 300 feet up.

I"m sure you would all like to join me in wishing John every success in his new role at the Portsmouth Tourist Board.  I"m sure he will make a great job of it.   ;D

His is right though.  And a GUKPT at Portsmouth would be awesome, great location.

And lets bring an APAT event back to the South Coast for season 4 ( Are we allowed to mention season 4 yet ? )

Did they ever get the lift working in the spinnaker ?

300ft sounds like a lot of steps to tread both up and down.

Its only 570 steps, so you don"t really notice the climb and its well worth the effort. All public buildings have to have disabled access, so they are lifted and lowered by rope.

That looks fantastic. The glass panels floor and view all remind me of the Skytower in Auckland New Zealand. Of course being in New Zealand those crazies take cash from the tourists to jump off it.

I guess stepping off the edge would be like going all in UTG with 72 offsuit. :o
