Flights to Dublin from UK - Public Service Announcement
« on: April 21, 2009, 22:43:17 PM »
public service announcement for those that qualified or planning on clickfest for Dublin.

Ryanair currently got flights for a quid from several UK airports for APAT weekend, offer ends 22/4 ( tomorrow night ). No taxes flying in, limited taxes coming back.

obv price increases if your checking in bags, also there is debit card fee which is a rip off, but for travelling sat early morning, returning Mon pm from East Midlands its costing me and the better half £41 return allin ( £20 is debit card fee). So worth booking if you don"t mind travelling maybe airlines ( maybe on time, maybe not )

unfortunately not. It cost £21 return for 2 and then £10 per passenger for using debit card to book, must admit didnt try credit card but assume similar charge.

Also I will be travelling pretty light, hand luggage only, as it was £30 checkin online and £40 checkin at the airport per suitcase/large bag, hence where they make their cash.

If you can handle that, then not a bad price.

The saying "you never see a poor bookie" comes to mind

the reason they justify the Debit card fee is because you are paying a £ for a flight!!!!

We booked our return flights from Birmingham to Dublin through Ryanair.  They started at £5.00 each way but finally came in at £29.00 each return.  Had to opt for on-line checking in and 1 hand luggage (OK anyway) otherwise the price would have been £40.00 more each! :o  They charge £20 for checking in at the airport so be warned!

When I got to the payment page they added £10.00 each handling fee!

Still a good price at under £30.00 but you end up feeling hard done by as after every page they bump it up! & £10.00 handling fee for the payment, per person is a joke!

I also heard that the Irish Government are starting to charge 10 euros to leave the country at the airport!  Something to keep in mind.

last years Ryanair flight times from MCR airport seem to have been switched with Aerlingus.  Didn"t fancy the £1 for s slash charge or the card charge. £57rtn with lingus booked a fortnight ago.  Not too bad.  Fingers crossed for a seat ;)
