Last time I played this I ran KK into AK (and lost) in about 30 mins.

Fingers Crossed for today.

What a start!

Playing A5 flop is A57 (2 hearts).

Opponent bets - I raise - he flat calls ... mmm

River is a 5 for the full house.

He checks - I bet 2/3 of the pots - he calls.

On the River he checks.

I check ... he holds AA ... slow played pre flop!

5200 chips left - 30 mins in.

35 mins in ... my next full house ... not paid ... sigh ... limped in with J5 in Blinds.

Next hand AK on the Button ... just under standard raise ... BB All in ... call and hold vs AT.

So back to the black ...

Table is loaded with three players in top 471 of 2008 ratings (1.062m players!)

Action packed first hour.

Yeah - I checked it - had the over-riding feeling he had pocket aces (as he did) ... let"s see if it is worth anything!?!

A very pleasing check ...

If he has a ropey ace - would he call a bet? - what was with the flat calling??

2"s with everything since then!

Maybe 98% of the time I agree

I was playing at the International Club this week on Thursday and a guy flopped a King Straight ... his opponent the Ace Straight.

On the river the Ace-Straight bet out 10k for value into about 35k ... and despite correctly deducing from the betting that he must have the Ace Straight he called anyway.

He called because he couldn"t fold ...

Had the ACE full house gone all in - I would have instantly called - and been "happy" to lose ... but the flat calls and check smelled of rockets ... so on this rare occasion I think you can make the exception.

Up to 17k ... so let"s see if it can mean something!?!

Second Break.

15,390 chips. Average is 24,712.

Really slow for the first 45 mins then in successive hands.

KK vs QQ
QQ vs AA

Better hands held both times.

Then flopped top pair twice - and check raised for a decent profit.

(Though second time was very lucky when walking into another slow played AA! - hitting a second pair)

1498 left from 3702 with 540 paid.

Need to double up - but no panic.

Made the money on $30k GTD, then shoved shortly after with KJo which was called by QT. Q on flop, J on turn river blank.

Just $35 for my efforts.
