And that bit he said about me being a respected voice

Damn near spilled my beer - would have spoiled a 32 year run

So what happened 32 years and 1 day ago?

As my parents were married 50 years and 1 day ago, Ger was either celebrating their 18th wedding anniversary or mourning Elvis Presley.

I"m pleased to announce the addition of Northern Ireland to the European Amateur Team Championship line up.

Colin O"Prey, a member of the successful Ireland team in last year"s Championship will act as Player Captain and it would appear he has a very talented player base to call from, with several players from Northern Ireland going deep in APAT events over the last two years.

In addition, the Republic of Ireland will be added to the entry list under the Captaincy of Len Collin.  Len will retain the nucleus of his Championship winning team last year, with the exception of Colin O"Prey.

We wish the teams from both countries the very best of luck in Luton this November.

Wow! Thanks everyone. All that remains for me to do is gather a super strong team who can hopefully take the winning cup to the north of our beautiful island. ;)

And before Sir Perceval makes any suggestion, the bold highlighted above doesn"t mean Scotland.   ;)

Perhaps it would be simplest to hold a heads-up contest between the two leading countries on a table straddling the border, thus minimising the possibility of any damage to the cup from transporting it all the way to England and back.

If you play in one of the European Teams in November, are you automatically offered a place (Buy in ) in the ME that starts on the Saturday ?
