OUT of $7.5k guaranteed on Full Tilt finished 106th from 502 players...

Decided I wanted to build a stack so started playing super agro and throwing my stack around trying to pick up blinds + limps etc. Ended up being blinds + two limps and I pushed all in with A5 suited and was called by AK. Top 54 cashed but ach well, I wasn"t aiming to cash - wanted a stack to go deep. GG.

Taking a break for dinner etc for the next hour before playing:

$27.50 MSOP#30 - PLO ($25k Guaranteed)
and
$22 Double Deuce - NLHE ($200k Guaranteed)

Very lively start to the second session

A2 into A2x (two hearts) ... all the chips in vs flush draw ... up to 27k

Looked to get busy ... and chipped back to 23k when I was dealt AKs

I limped for 1000 ... next to act all in for c12k ... called by short stack (6k)

Called to find myself AKs vs KK vs JJ ... and no help.

Would have put me 35th.

Now back in the back.

Just under average 2540 players left. 630 paid.

Just one last thing before I go to get dinner:

I was wondering, what"s everybody"s strategy"s in MASSIVE field online tournies like 10k-20k runners (ie - Tilt"s double deuce and Stars 250k)? Do you just play crazy loose trying to accumulate a massive stack? Only played each of them once as the massive fields normally put me off but going to give the DD a shot tonight and think i"m just going to go nuts early in an attempt to chip up...

I"m just not a fan of anything with 1,000+ runner at the moment. I can put aside an hour or so to play and concentrate in the Double Shootouts and the likes but I just can"t bring myself to get excited by such fold-fests. I know I haven"t answered your question ... it just seemed like a good time to rant about them a bit  ;D

Not too much folding going on - on my table in the Warm Up.

Very lively table ...

In terms of massive fields ... play just tighter than you perceive the average player to be ... great chance to be double up by people pushing too hard too early ... but need to have the goods ... if you are in the middle of the field a double up has you in great shape no need to be the early chip leader unless the cards dictate.

Of course if you manage to find a super tight table (unlikely) ... fire up the steam roller.

Good Luck

Break 2

25.7k in chips - Average 24.5k

1754 left.

Last hand - Large stack button raises with A3 - I push back for 10k more with A9 - he calls ... suits me ...

Really good hour of poker - action packed - just moved table but some promisingly loose play.

Yeah on second thought was thinking it"s probably best to play slightly tighter than average and wait for a hand to go up against the folk throwing their chips around. In regards to getting excited by fold fests - i"m the same frame of mind kinda but one look at the first prize always reels me in, lol. I find it easy to play tight through the massive fields early on until deeper in when I"ve got another table or two up. Just leave it in the bottom corner and follow my own tight-ish starting hand requirements while playing my usual game on the other table or two.

Normally i"d consider 800-1,500 big fields though... this 10k-20k field malarky looks a bit more daunting but will give it a bash anyway - I"ve got a feeling i"m going to take it down... hahahahahahahahahah :D

Nice one, keep it going!

I"ve just started my PLO tourney, won a couple of small pots to increase my stack by around 50% already, still very early days though... over 1,600 runners and late reg is still open.

Break 3

60k chips - moved and gone card dead.

Average is 54k

796 left - 630 paid.

Pokerstars dishing out some real specials - thank fully I was not involved.

Within 10 mins

TT vs 66 Board 6T6 ... 4 ... T
55 vs AK Board x66 ... 6 ...6

6 of the 9 players on my table are above average, and only one short stack so still tricky.

Sunday Warm Up

Made the money just ... $311 back ... first hand after the bubble.

99 vs AA

Hardly ideal but plenty short enough to call pre flop standard raise - board 44J.

622th from 4320 ... cashed three weeks in a row ... so I guess I return next Sunday.

Not bad beaten tonight!
