I fail to see how anyone can compare Jacko with John Lennon and the Beatles, granted he did have musical talent and is going to be one of the "greats" but never in my mind will he have the musical genius of the Beatles and John Lennon ever!

Can I also say, I hope this thread remains clean without any of the disgusting jokes or horrible references to his well publicised personal life.

Personally I prefer to listen to the Beatles rather than Michael Jackson, but that is a personal preference, as is your view. But the fact remains that Worldwide, Jackson has a following that is not dissimilar to the Beatles, both in terms of size, record sales, and hysteria.... therefore a comparison is reasonable. After all, if that weren"t the case, this thread might not exist.

the only reason not to compare him to Lennon is u grew up in a completely different era, so of course, you stand him in different ground.... anyone in their 30"s not 50+  will tell you he revolutionised music and was indeed a big an icon as Lennon. . if not bigger. . and as for me, i"m more a beatles fan than Jacko, always have been. . . that said, he was nothing short of a musical genius. . . . . .  .all topped off with the fact he didn"t have the easiest of lives of a normal upbringing. . . idolised by millions he will be sorely missed. .

HAHAHAHAHA that made me laugh it really did, you think I grew up in a different era, what age do you think i am!! I was brought up by a father who idolised John Lennon and the Beatles and I was 11 when John died and was thrown even more into his music, but Jacko was always there whilst I was growing up and I never liked him, thats my preference.
