I"ll keep my $10,000 in my pocket thank you.
I might not win but I"ll have more left than most  ;D

Might not win but think there could be a good chance of you making the top 5 and get an option  ;)

No chance. The rest of us only have to hit one cashing player to be ahead.

Not really. You and a lot of people have 10% of 10 players. If one of them cashes for the minimum you"re only making around the $2,000 mark (the min-cash at the 2008 WSOP was $21230). At 10% stake of a player and having one player cashing, like you said, you would need (basing my calculations on the 2008 payout list) one player to break the top 63 to beat his $10k.

2008 payout:
64th - 72nd =  $96,500
55th - 63rd = $115,800

While spreading your bets accross 10 players gives you a greater chance of having a player make this top 63 in all reality you will either need multiple cashes or one MAJOR cash to beat the $10k that he"s keeping in his pocket. Like someone already said though - there"s no fun in keeping the $10k in your pocket.

Thank you please.

And how many people have entered this? I"ll bet you an APAT National Event entry fee that he doesn"t win.

... there should be a Wayne Mardle multiplier ... if he cashes that would be pick of the century ...

Numbers of runners pretty low for days 1A and 1B ... 1116 + 873 ... are we going to be under 4,000??

Record is 8773!

Out on day 1B

Doyle Brunson
Vicky Coren
Chris Moneymaker ... 873 Runners on 1B ... 839 Total when he won it ...

fun time in day 1 c

after being told they are to play an extra level tonight along with day 1d we have

First Elimination (7 Minutes In)

You can all relax now, Main Event players. One poor soul is already out. On a flop of  jd th 5d   , one player bet, a second player moved all in, a third player flat-called the all in and the original bettor flashed  :as: ac   and folded. "All in and call on Table 9!" A murmur went through the crowd as they heard that death knell for the first time today. Media and ESPN cameras circled the table. The tournament clock showed 1:53 remaining in the level, meaning only seven minutes had ticked away. One player had  td ts   for middle set. The other had  5s 5h   for bottom set. The turn was the  4s , the river was the  7h and the player with the tens doubled up to 60,000 while the player with the fives walked away from the table completely gobsmacked at what had just happened to him. $10,000 up in smoke in only 7 minutes... only at the World Series of Poker.

Tell me exactly in which part of my post I said that he"d win it? I said he had a good chance of finishing in the top 5 and getting an option. Your point was that "The rest of us only have to hit one cashing player to be ahead" and I merely stated that you were wrong unless said player made top 63 (or you had a higher % of them, which you don"t).

I don"t really gamble other than poker but will bet £50 accross two seperate bets if you wan"t to gamble:

£25 on him finishing in the top 5 (like I originally stated) with his $10k
£25 on him beating your total score with his $10k

Bets to be settled as per APAT rules based on final table chip stacks rather than waiting until November, money to be transferred via poker site we both agree on (unless both bets cancel each other out and nobody needs paying obviously).

Let me know...

Also, can I point out that the option of keeping my $10,000 has proven to be anything but boring.  ;D
