Day 1 of APAT's Scottish National was another well organised and well run day congrats and thanks to Des, Michael, Tighty and the staff at the Maybury. I had another most enjoyable day (it would have been excellent if it wasn"t for one obnoxious and abusive "associate" - more on this will follow) and would like to say that it was again a pleasure catching up with old friends old and meeting some new ones.

WP to all the folk who made it to Day 2 and GLGLGL to all the better-known APATers and forum regulars.

Yep well done all - only thing I would say is I thought there would have been some sort of "welcome" to the players just before shuffle up but there was nothing. I know we were running a wee bit late.

Dying to hear about the "associate" - I had to switch my headphone over to my left side when he sat down next to me - and it made no difference!

Hoping to rail the final later - will see how family commitments go  ;)

We"d normally do a welcome but running a bit late (something we hate) and no microphone/held across two rooms accounted for that

... yes very well organised and good fun ... I thought the pies had a particularly fine brand of grease added to them ... always especially pleasing when murky liquids appear when you break into a pie ...

Guinness was good ... not sure how optimal starting to drink properly at midnight is??

Want to see the chips fly ... but tempted by the Stanley Circus "event" ... interesting structure ...

Apologies to all and Rich n Des for the screwup yesterday whilst playing and viewing the forum on my phone.

Totally stressed me out and put me on severe tilt, but luckily I got myself back on track and made it to Day2

Great to see so many people I know, and making new friends  As always, its what makes attending APAT events so special.

GL to everyone playing today, especially my cuz George Dickson and of course myself LOL

Great updates Rich ;) I promise I wont view the forum on my phone today! LOL

Something not right about Scotish pies..  They fry pies yer know.. I went into a chippy in Glasgow, Pie and Chips please...  He picks a pie from the heating thing above the counter and puts it in the deep fryer..  What are you doing, I says...  Frying the pie was the reply... OMG you cant do that, I says... Thats the way we do em up here... So wrong, so badly wrong..!!

gl to Rupinder Bedi. Overdue imo. He"s also far better looking than me, and an infinetly better poker player

Thanks for stealing my laptop this morning George.

The gl to Rupinder Bedi is correct though, not too sure about the rest.....!!!!!

Well done all on another enjoyable day and well organised event. Really enjoyed the table I was at and it was a great experience for me having not played much in the way of live poker. I now hope to play live more often in the future.

Good luck to those left in.

He may have nicked your laptop and made day two Kev, but he can"t win a Omaha flip for food at the hotel.

Even if he does try and change the rules.   ;)

Aside from the APAT event what is the Poker Action (if any) in Edinburgh today?

Any tournaments to play?

L

From Stanley Circus website:

SUNDAY  4PM START
£20 NL HOLD-EM
4,000PTS STARTING STACK
1 RE-BUY OR ADD ON ALLOWED 6,000PTS
BLINDS INCREASE EVERY 60 MINS (2 LEVELS)THEN EVERY 25 MINS

How many runners likely? Any form? Is it turgid for two hours then a crap shoot.

L

Between 30 and 40 runners, always seems to be plenty play

I always find the circus fun to play but too many bingo players especially if it"s a rebuy.

After the break it tighten ups but still very soft especially if you get the right spots. Level of competition is far better what I experienced at the APAT yesterday. A far more enjoyable game

Its only 1 rebuy or addon. You get bingo players in every card room, from my experience.
