I still don"t understand why people get upset or tilted by anything anyone says?

Or are people just exaggerating, and these things really don"t bother them?

It annoys me when people say they"re doing stupid all ins because they have to leave soon (only when they"re actually doing it - when they"re saying it and holding pocket aces for example, it just amuses me)

It doesn"t tilt me though - i.e. it doesn"t adversely affect my decision making, it just means it"s something I have to factor in.

I was going to respond, but I"m going to play a cash game instead...

Good to see you worked out the quotes mikey!!!

Things that bug me are people just generally not paying attention and having to be reminded time and time again that it is there turn to act! then the questions start, whats the blinds? what is the action so far etc etc!

fair enough these are the people that we wanna be playing with as they are clearly not paying attention - but c"mon!! every time?!!

It"s not Rat-Holing (or Going South), it"s called "Taking your winnings and leaving". Something every cash player should strive to do.

Going South can only happen in a B & M environment  and is when they take money off the table but stay at the table...and is very much frowned upon.

Its the short stackers that mostly do this....now they really bug me, their poker skills post flop are rubbish, if they were good then they would buy in deep, and yet they probably know they cant play poker post flop.

some short stackers make lots of money doing this strategy, and it gets on my nerves.

exactly every short stack comes on, cracks my kings with a2off and run, they are only there for two minutes. its happened to me too many times so that is one reason why i dont play online. i know we should take our winnings but at least give the losers another chance to lose for a few orbits. this is the reason why a certain player is not allowed to play cash live at a local venue. he comes on short, doubles up and leaves, doesnt pay anything towards session charge.

I-Pods and their like!!! - should be banned!

Good point - I agree.

i aggree, when they are listening to music every few minutes they have to be reminded it their turn to act, "who bet, what was the raise", annoying

- and they don"t realise that the sound very often escapes from their ear-things, so other people have to listen to their hissing "music". At least you can change seat if some earphone victim sits beside you on public transport, but you can"t do that at a poker table

- and they look ridiculous, especially when combined with sunglasses and a cap or hoodie - lol!

- and they look even more ridiculous when they bet and then pretend they can"t hear you and self-consiously nod along to their music as if they have no interest in whether you are going to call or not - lol again

- and they isolate the user from the social interaction, which is a big part of APAT and other poker tournaments

- and they inevitably make the user less aware of the game. Anyone who doubts the potentially disastrous consequences should ask Andy Price, who went from almost chip-leader to almost out in one hand in the APAT Welsh Open 2008, solely as a result of using an I-Pod. I sat beside him all day and he had played really well to build a big stack. In one of the final hands of the day at 1am, he said raise and tried to min-raise from 3k to 6k with 66, having not heard a previous all-in for 28k. He was made to double the all-in raise, but was then called by KK, which held up and took the lot. http://www.apat.com/forum/index.php?topic=1021.315

My main objection is having to listen to the junk coming out from them, which is pretty inconsiderate of the user. The only intelligent use of headphones is the people who have them switched off so they are actually listening to what is going on while pretending not to.
can you hide my I-Pod please John  :)
