After extensive reseach (throughout my life) I have uncovered that the great man Arthur Guinness first dabbled with the great drink, with a mixture called simply Brew.
I understand that this makes the fledgling forerunner of the black stuff 250 years old today, with Guinness officially merited with 24th September 1759.
So two birthdays this year then, I will be raising a glass or two to the great man whilst playing the league match tonight.
