WCOAP Player Briefing 2009

Final event details for players who have entered events in the World Championship Of Amateur Poker ("WCOAP"), are as follows:


DATES

The World Championship of Amateur Poker will feature three events as follows:

August 27th - 5.00pm - WCOAP Omaha Amateur Poker Championship
August 28th - 4.30pm - WCOAP World Amateur Poker Championship - Day 1a
August 29th - 4.30pm - WCOAP World Amateur Poker Championship - Day 1b
August 30th - 3.30pm - WCOAP World Amateur Poker Championship - Day 2
August 30th - 3.45pm - WCOAP HORSE Amateur Poker Championship

DRESS CODE

Clean and tidy dress is strongly recommended. 

By order of the Cardroom - No football shirts, no ripped jeans, no tracksuit bottoms.  Regular Jeans and Trainers are absolutely fine.


REGISTRATION

For registration you are required to complete a Venue Membership Form and produce a valid proof of identification.

You can fill in the Dusk Till Dawn Membership Form via this link and complete your registration by showing identification at the venue on your first day of play. 

Please note that any friends or family members that wish to accompany you into the Venue will also have to complete a Venue Membership Form.

Registration is only available to individuals aged 18 years of age and older, with a valid proof of identification.


IDENTIFICATION

Please bring a valid Passport or Drivers License.  If you do not have one of those, then a credit card AND recent utility bill will suffice.  Your guests will also need to bring a similar proof of identity.

If you cannot present valid identification at Dusk Till Dawn, you will not be allowed to enter the premises. 


SCHEDULE

Play commences as outlined in the dates schedule above. 

The Omaha and Horse events will be completed in one day, while the World Amateur Poker Championship event will be played over three days. 

Play is expected to finish in the World Amateur Poker Championship at around 3.00am on day 1a and 1b.  Players left in will return for a 3.30pm start on Sunday, with the final expected to finish at around 11.00pm. 

Due to the nature of tournament Poker, end of day timings are estimated.

PRIZES

World Amateur Poker Championship

1st:  A payment of £7,000 + Engraved World Amateur Championship Cup + Gold Medal + Grosvenor UK Poker Tour Grand Final Entry + 18 ranking points + Significant Media Exposure.

The Grosvenor UK Poker Tour Grand Final package comprises a paid entry worth over £3,000.

2nd: £5,000 + Silver Medal + 17 ranking points.

3rd:  £3,000 + Bronze Medal + 16 ranking points.

4th to 9th:  £1,000 each + 10 to 15 ranking points.

10th to 18th:  £600 each + 1 to 9 ranking points.

19th to 30th:  £300 each.

Alternates will be allowed the opportunity to take part during the first two levels.  

An additional prize of £100 will be created as a result of each alternate who is allowed to enter.  This money will be awarded to the players finishing directly outside the above prize pool, so if for example 4 alternates take part in the event, then finishing positions from 31st to 34th will each win back their buy in of £100. 

The alternates will be chosen from the APAT controlled reserve list started at the venue on the first day of play.  This will enable a small number of additional members to participate.

Under our terms & conditions, APAT will not support deal making.  This is a unique International Championship event and the onus is on every player to try their utmost to win it outright. 

Please note that all entrance fees will be paid out in prize money.  APAT will not retain any fee for running any event in the World Championship of Amateur Poker.

Payout structure based on 300 players paying an entry fee of £100 each.

Omaha Championship

1st:  A payment of £1,300 + Gold Medal + 9 ranking points.

2nd:  £750 + Silver Medal + 8 ranking points.

3rd:  £500 + Bronze Medal + 7 ranking points.

4th to 9th:  £250 each + 1 to 6 ranking points.

Payout structure based on 81 players paying an entry fee of £50 each.

Please note the payouts for this event will be paid directly into each player"s Blue Square Poker account on Tuesday September 1st.

HORSE Championship

1st:  A payment of £1,000 + Gold Medal + 9 ranking points.

2nd:  £600 + Silver Medal + 8 ranking points.

3rd:  £400 + Bronze Medal + 7 ranking points.

4th to 5th:  £200 each + 5 or 6 ranking points.

6th to 9th:  1 to 4 ranking points.

Payout structure based on 48 players paying an entry fee of £50 each.

Please note the payouts for this event will be paid directly into each player"s Blue Square Poker account on Tuesday September 1st.


BUFFET

A free buffet will be laid on for main event players on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.  A bar and restaurant menu will be available at the Venue at all times.


PRESS

Journalists, photographers and Sky Poker Channel 865 will be present throughout the World Amateur Championship.  By entering this tournament you accept that your image may be used in APAT press and marketing campaigns.


LIVE UPDATE

Technology allowing, APAT will run live updates on the events and we will be posting player pictures and chip counts throughout the WCOAP.  Feel free to tell your friends and family, who can follow request details of your progress by registering for free on the forum.
