My name is Mark "V"arela. I am 32. I like blue. So, VBlue24 - obviously.
I have been aware of the APAT for at least a year now, but have not played one single online or live event. I have an account issue with Blue Square, which I will clear, but have been prevented from doing so financially.
I am an avid/aspirational/fanatical - one of those, or somewhere in between the three - poker player, tournament host and writer. Although I work in a bookies full-time at the moment.
I am a franchisee for a national pub poker league and run two events myself each week.
I also host tournaments for a local poker club, with fields of around 50, playing £20/£20 double chance NLH.
I have also tested the water with my first poker article, written on the subject of pub poker. I go for more general interest, with some strategy, and some attempted humour - rotflmao (I hope).
At the end of September, I am taking a family holiday to the US - 1st stop Las Vegas. As my 11 year old step-daughter is with our party, there will be little time for casinos and poker; although some time, of course. I am thinking of going Downtown to Binions as my girlfriend and I (I am a stickler for good grammer) have a bankroll of just $150. I believe that Binions offer lower stakes tournaments throughout the day; Strip tournaments are outside my bankroll, or conflict with my schedule.
On my return from holiday, I am going to have a go at setting up a blog. If nobody reads it, it will certainly give me some focus, as a player. I may feel like the biggest billy-no-mates ever though. I will record both live pub poker results, my various online exploits, and my educational progress with a UK online site.
I am looking to play online at three main sources; my final decision is not yet made. Blue Square for APAT, the ipoker network via a UK poker site recently launched offering some excellent unique benefits, and my poker club games at Pacific Poker.
With plans to also grow membership of my pub poker league franchise and continue to run events for the poker club, I have a busy schedule ahead.
I also have a number of other personal goals which I have yet to finalise plans for. I will share these in my blog.
For now, I sign off until early October.
Good luck all - especially Luky and Chip. Your blog was a very entertaining read and I wish you both the best at The Vic.
