Bolton

Just wandering...

Due to working a late shift on the friday night (23/10). I wont be able to catch the next train to Manchester until 6:30am (Earliest) Saturday morning. A 2.5 hour train journey to Manchester without delays suggests an Estimated Time of Arrival of 9am. Catching a connecting train and the prior waiting around for one to Bolton will take 45mins + And finding the casino itself considering i"ve never set foot in Bolton before another 45mins?

More to the point... To those that have played in these sort of tournaments before does arriving at 10.30 leave me plenty of time? or will that be cutting it fine? Also do we need to arrive at the casino early to register?

Cheers again,
Mike.

you need to either a) qualify through the sats which will be upcoming or b) buy in through the clickfest, but demand will be high so they usually sell out within a few minutes. the tournament wont start till 2-2.30pm on the sat so you will have plenty of time.

have a scout on the website to fid out more.

hope this helps

As someone who works in Bolton and has played at the G I can help out with any queries.

From Manchester to Bolton on the train takes no more than 15 mins. They run approx every 10 mins from either Manchester Victoria or Manchester Piccadilly.

The casino is less than a 5 minute walk from the train station in Bolton.

You exit out of the main entrance directly in front of you, and straight across the road past the bus station. Follow this main road for a few seconds and you"ll see a Morrisons. About 100m away, you should be able to see a Mecca bingo. The casino shares the building with the Mecca.

If you"re a member at any other G or Grosvenor casino, you just need to fill out a card which takes seconds. You generally even get a personal tour as I did!

If needs be, I can arrange to meet people at the train station and take them across. Will be booking the weekend off work for it.
