Perla Hotel and Casino in Slovenia is your place for such an event.

Seconded.
If you're not living on the edge, you're taking up too much space.

This is the first sensible thing ,Ironside has ever said .Apat european tour FTW.Surely some of the teams playing in the european team championships could come up with some great venues for  a little overseas juant.

I"ve always fancied a trip to the principality of Scotland.

Always feels as if your abroad, i.e You can never understand a word the locals say, but after drinking the local firewater everybody sounds the same.

I have been told that the weather is warm between the 20 July and 22 July, more often than not.

The exchange rate is good at the moment £1= 10 dabloons or some of that funny money with strange pictures on, that traders in the UK dont like to accept.

Some of the outer regions are classed as overseas

How about Aberdeen?

Tbh been to Slovenia, wasn"t that impressed, although full of fish from a poker point of view. My vote would be Tallin in Estona. Great place, good casino, plenty of fish, cheap as chips and great extracurricular activities!!!  ;)

this is why

Re: APAT European Amateur Championship 2008 - Live Update - Day Two

Des and Tighty do Vienna

So its 2am. One of us is frisky and up for action. One of us is longing for bed, horlicks and an early morning

We decide to take a cab back to Guantanamo Hotel as Des needs to drop his bags off

We arrive but the automated check in service has been smashed. Des gets on the blower and tries to explain to random Austrian that has a room booked and can they please send someone to fix the machine

Random drunken Scousers also have same problem, only louder and more slurred

we wait in sub arctic temperatures for the man to arrive. I have a room but decide it is politic to stay with Des

taxi arrives. drunk fella tries to hit cabbie. goes up to his room having refused to pay fare

5 minutes later police arrive. cabbie points at des. I swear des looked at me immediately. austrian police, revolvers holstered come up to talk to us. we explain the room problem. they look at smashed screen and ask to see our passports

hotel man arrives., insists I do not have a room booked despite me showing him my key

police question us about the cabbie assault, the hotel screen

we give description of the passenger. About to draw photofit of Kinboshi when suddenly they chan ge tack when they notice that Scouser has fallen asleep on floor by us and is sleep talking incomprehensibly

Police say I can go to bed. Didnt have the heart to explain that actually I had my eyes on Sonia with the tassels at the cat club and please could I have a lift?

Des gets to his room, minus key, at 5am

down to reception at 12pm to find it deserted with a piece of paper pinned to the desk with Des and my passport numbers, addresses and phone numbers

just online translated the note at the bottom

"these English men think they have rooms booked but I do not think so. Please question them"

Wish us luck tonight!!

I have to say as an observer it was a legendary weekend and that"s was without  the hilarity of trying to get half a dozen of us plus equipment into the worlds smallest hire car for  the trip to the airport. Oh what happy days, something to treasure for ever. ;D
