It would be really interesting to see how a top player would run in an APAT event ... would they be able to break free??

I doubt it.

Well I"ve tried a few times, but haven"t managed to win one.

lol.

But i was also thinking this last season, how good would a top pro do with our structure?
Because players like Hellmuth, Matasow, Ivey and Negraenu etc win most of their chips playing after the flop, They play a distinctive smallball style, and in the Apat tourneys, once you get to about level 6, it is very rare to see two people in a hand going to the river without One of the players beign "all in" or pot commited. I personally think a pros skill would be severly limited. it comes down to way to much luck in the flips.

Yeah totally agree with this ... but what is the remedy?

How do you encourage play in the early levels ...

i dont think there is a remedy, just gotta pray for the poker gods.............

On Daniels twitter he has not updated all day, his last Tweet is that he basically hates poker, and he still has yet to write a proper blog about the heads up yet.....just goes to show that even they get depressed about the game from time to time.

there are plenty of tournaments out there that pros play at similar to APAT structure

look at the EPO for example, only slightly different structure but full of top players due to buy in
Looking forward to making my first day 2
