what is the obsession with online poker, i hate it

i always keep saying that i dont like online poker but i thought i would give betfred a try as a friend keeps raving on about it, only deposited a tenner to see what happens, sit at 5 c/10c 6 handed and see what happens, for a while i think im missing out as it seems like im cleaning up this table, i roll up $10 to $16 without really concentrating and as i unclick the auto post button im on the button, the utg raises to 30c, the cutoff raises to $1, i had  :as: ah so i happily raise to $3, blinds fold, utg folds and the cutoff ships it for $18(he got lucky against another player with a weak holding pre) so what do u think i did?

1) snap call and sip my brew(earl grey tea)

2) sip on my brew, watch calvin harris"s vid on youtube for a bit(good looking women are more interesting and a great song imo lol) then call

3) fold as im so unlucky online he would suck out and carry on sipping my brew

i did the obvious thing and snap call, he had j10 off, the flop  th ts ks, turn and river does not bring an ace and i spit my tea all over my laptop, put the apat web address in the address bar(after watching video on youtube first) and started typing this rant.

i feel that as i clicked the auto post button they give me a hand that will lose all my money and an idiot to stack off with j10 off, my life is so cursed when i play online. it does not bother me when i lose like that in a live game but it seems like online is cursed for me, am i the only one or is there anyone else in my boat.

Turn is   the other player who folded announced he folded an Ace pre flop.

Yoou"d think a program would know the location of every card in the deck, without having to search through the whole deck, even one at a time, it wouldn"t take me that long to locate the said card.

By the way, do you ever see such a long pause before the river card  during a normal run of the mill hand?

I think online poker is great. Lots of opportunities to stack off players. Had a typical example last night on Betfred with a hand which was raised and reraised before it came to me. The reraiser obviously had something strong but I had a pretty good read on him and reckoned that if I shoved he would struggle unless he had AK, QQ or better. I had him down as the type that would drink Earl Grey tea while playing poker and probably types website addresses every time instead of saving them in his favourites or creating a shortcut on his desktop. His reraise could have been made light or even a misclick cos I could tell that he wasn"t really concentrating on the game - probably wan king over some pop video on YouTube while playing. If he did call, I would be behind but I still had a number of ways of winning, plus there would be dead money in the pot. I might have taken the pot down there and then but Earl Grey boy happened to have picked up a monster. As the hand played out I hit trips on the flop. I could just imagine him spluttering his tea over his laptop like he was the first player ever to be outdrawn. Could tell he was playing above his level cos he didn"t reload but just went off to slit his wrists after one badbeat. Or else he went back to watching YouTube without the distraction of playing poker, the dirty bugger.

Agreed. With the spare time you have, I would expect an average of 3 or 4 highly witty posts per day.

For every 4/1 shot that you lose, I"m sure you win 4 others - but nobody bothers to post them on here.... and probably doesn"t even remember them.  

Understand that 4/1 means that you are likely to LOSE 1 in 5 times.

AA is not nailed on to beat JT - it will LOSE on average once in every 5 showdowns.

I"m sure that the original poster was happy when the cards were flipped over and he had AA vs JT - therefore he made a good play and got unlucky when it turned out that this was the one in five when AA would lose.

c"est la vie - reload, make a note on the player, move on, and make sure to play against him lots more.
