Bolton.

I am struggling to think of three things I know about Bolton.

1 is the Reebok stadium. Good architecture. 1a is the old Burnden Park now that was a ground with character

2 A former mill town and at its peak 200+ cotton mills were operating in the town.

3 er, that"s it.

3. They hold the UK Open Darts there every June (although that"s at the Reebok as well so it"s really 1b)

As my wife OFTEN tells me, it"s the hometown of Tony Knowles (80s also-ran snooker player who nearly won something once) who happens to be her sporting hero.

4. It"s the largest town in Britain with 260,000 inhabitants.

270 (45,90,135)

BTW when i read "The name Bolton derives from the Old English bothel and tun, meaning a "settlement with a special building"

I was wondering if the special building was a "Warehouse"?
