"That Try"
« on: December 05, 2009, 14:23:35 PM »
On my sick bed this afternoon, cried off Rugby this afternoon.Teaching myself PLO on the cash tables ready for tonight! But just watched Gareth Edwards try for the Barbarians against the all Blacks all those years ago. Phil Bennet"s magic, and the commentary, I still get goose bumps, awesome!

"The try" is awesome, but it sums up how pants Rugby is, if the best thing ever seen in rugby, is in a friendly / exhibition match.

"the Goal" was in the World cup final. No comparison for me. Its the goal.

For me the best thing about "the goal" is that the ball hits a bobble and shoots up just as Carlos leathers it, but he still gets a "decent" connection. In the modern game, pundits always make excuses for players when they scuff their shot becaus it hits a "bobble".

couldn"t agree more....although the best part is the dribble around 3 or 4 italians, to pass the ball 4 yards to the side, just total noneshelonce ( i know spell is a little wrong!!...no idea though!... :D)
