Congratulations to APAT Member Ivar Garvik from Norway, who final tabled the PokerStars Guinness World Record Tournament last night, which attracted a staggering 149,000 players.
Ivar, who has attended several APAT events in the past, finished 10th for a prize of $2,250. Early on the final table Ivar put 14 million chips into the pot with a pair of sixes, and was called by an opponent holding Ace Jack. The Jack on the flop sealed his fate, but nonetheless this was an outstanding and historic achievement by the Norwegian. The tournament winner collected a first prize of $50,000.
This is a video report from the Irish Amateur Poker Championship in 2007, which features an interview with Ivar part way through.
