Sunday Night Poker - Jan 3rd
« on: January 03, 2010, 18:44:46 PM »
Late Registration for the Sunday Warm Up for me ...

Train delays annoying ...

Lost the minimum with AK vs QQ ... but lost a little more since ...

7650 chips vs 11400 average ... perhaps I should have walked to the hotel and not got the taxi ... mmm

Feeling good ... looking forward to the proper darts starting ...

Break 1

16,300 chips vs 12,300 Average.

Aggressive from my later arrival I decide to limp JJ ... lovely re-raise after me to 600 (100/200 Blinds) ... then two flat calls ... obvious re-raise (to 3000) ... initial raiser all in ... hard to believe they have QQ,KK,AA ... other flat callers disappear ... JJ vs 99 ... flop J98 ... perfect start ... five min break to unpack!

Quite liking the feel of my table ...

Looks like there will be 5000 runners ... for a $1m pot ...

Break 2

I am sure that I have now bored any railers to death ...

NO CARDS ... until late on ... two legitimate hands ... all fold to the appropriate raises.

15.6k chips vs 20.2k Average ...

Happy to take the card rush now ... no harm done.

I am dead ... in a big blind special ...

I am the small blind A8s ... I make the blind up ... he goes all in ... I pretty confident that I am ahead so I call ...hoping for the weaker ace ... instead it is the monster 79o ... but live cards are going to hurt ...

He flops the up and down straight draw and completes on the river ... sick ...

Earlier I played a very strange hand ... the BB sitting out ... so I make the min raise with 44 ... (I assume this looks strong given I have played so little. I am happy enough that the short stack pushes (for a race) ... but very unhappy that the SB flat calls ...

Blinds were 300/600 ... I raise to 1200 ... small stack all in for 4k ... I have to fold ...

Short stack holds 68s ... the SB QTo (I had 14k behind - SB had a further 10k) ... amazingly the 44 would have stood up versus the 4 overcards ... but pretty wild play ...

Happy that I went for the A8 vs 79o but no result ... would have returned me to average ...

My conqueror is going strong ... with the 18BB open shove with A3 rewarded vs AK flop Axx3x ... currently 28th of 717 left inside the money ... he also won another battle of the blinds this time A7 vs A4 ...

In the Darts fair play to Whitlock ... but the Power always finds something ... looks like my medium bet at the start is doomed ...
