well 3 of the 4 semi finalists at the PDC worlds were very recently BDO.

Take Taylor out of the PDC and there is little to choose IMO.

Haven"t watched the clip, but if it was Adams v some Aussie that was on last night, that was Darts of the lowest calibre!! Your average pub player is better than that! After watching the final the other night it was like comparing test cricket with the village green!

I agree, but just to play devil"s advocate....

Perhaps, but would your average pub player be better than that when standing on the stage at Lakeside, having flown from Australia to play? I suggest possibly not.

You are comparing a final containing the best player in history, to a first round game. Not really a true and fair comparison.

Still crap though. Felt sorry for the Aussie, especially when he kept fumbling his darts between his hands.

Everything about the BDO is second division. Even the walkon"s and the crap sound quality was dire. However I think they do more for grass roots darts (peoples champion etc) than the PDC (in fact I am not sure the PDC does anything).

It would seem that the better darts players hone their game in the lower league (BDO) before progressing to the premiership. So in that respect I think its an important association.

note: if they allowed alcohol on the stage I bet the Aussie"s hand would stop shaking  ;D ;D ;D

won"t for a second pretend to understand the set up of darts as a whole, but i *hear Barry Hearn is looking to get the 2 organisations together again to get better links with the grass roots of the game, as it will dry up sooner or later it is deemed.
