Thanks for the responses - Like Maverick1 I hate calling with Aces pre (always fearful that they catch-up) so I opted to shove.

The responses tell me that no-one thinks this is a bad play although some see merit in calling.

In this case Villain tank-called with Pocket (Pocket ******* ...... for all but 600 of his stack) and spiked on the turn so Ironically calling and then moving in on the Kxx flop would have taken it down.

You"re being results orientated.

basically you only question the play on this hand because you lost. If your Aces hold you wouldn"t even think about making the post. That is What George means

results orientated - basically questioning your line/thinking based purely on the result of the hand, rather than the optimum strategy over x number of hands in a similar situation
