APAT Medals
« on: October 10, 2007, 23:35:32 PM »
A medal update for you all.  I have just signed off the new order for Season Two with our manufacturer and following a sensible  comment made on the forum a couple of days ago, I have had the Online and Regional medals reduced in size versus the National medal, to protect the "uniqueness" of National medals.

The smaller medals (40cms versus 70cms) will still feature the same APAT design  with smart presentation case and be a fantastic added value award.

Winning an APAT National event over two or three days of live play is a great poker achievement and I think it is right that the medal awards reflect this.

This seems a sensiable idea Des.
Just one thing though. I know its probably a cost issue but is there a way the medals could be engraved with what they are for. (yes I can hear people saying get it done yourself).

i think this is a good idea bodders. trouble if someone had it done themself, is that it wouldnt feel right or the same as if it was presented to you like that.
might well be a cost issue though!

Great idea - I felt a fraud when I got my silver medal for an online tourney (can you see what I did there? :) ) and am right behind differentiating the nationals from the rest. It"s a massively bigger achievement IMO.

Each medal does come with an engraved plaque stating which event it was won at.  That can"t be bad.

I take it you are refering to season two medals, as the one I recieved for season one does not have a plaque.

Hey
Just wondering when we can expect to start receiving the Season 2 medals? This sint a moan or push as i understand people have more improtant things to tend to and im happy to wait for as long as i have to... Just looking forward to receiving mine :) Should have 2 on the way, a bronze from the cardiff regional and silver from the Swiss open online. (played 2, won 2 ;) lol) Doubt i"ll be able to keep it up though  ;D
