Nice one poker gods, 2 outer on turn, then 1 outer on river. very cruel of them to put the K on turn.

someone else folded a K - so he actually needed to hit the final two Ks - and got them, then I hit my 1 outer.   Odds for that lot??

Fantastic day - many thanks to APAT and BlueSquare.

A bit surreal at the start to have Jake Cody (EPT Deauville champ) on my left, then Chaz Chatta, and two seats round to Stuart Rutter!!    Breathed a sigh of relief when moved tables, only to find Praz Banzi on my left with a big stack!!

Never put a foot wrong all day - got good value from my top hands, avoided some pitfalls, and fan some huge positional bluffs (including a river all with A hi - other guy folded a flopped set!).

Bit gutted about the way it all came to an end though - was big stack on the table, with only one stack bigger.... raised UTG to 2200 (blinds 400/800/a75) with AK, and matey raised to 6100.  Two hands previously he had made the same move with AQ, and called a shove from AK, only to spike a Q. Figured he wouldn"t be doing that again so soon, and didn"t particularly want to get 70+ big blinds in preflop with A hi - so just called, ready to check/fold if I missed the flop. Flop was KQQ, and I checked with the intention of raising all in...... but he shoved for 30k+ into a 13k pot......  for some strange reason, I snap called! If I"d paused and thought about it, there was hardly anything my AK could beat here - he had frickin AQ again, and I was gone.   Win that hand and I"m chip leader. Fold and I comfortably make day two with a decent stack.

Bloody good day though. Helluva format with 15k chips and 1 hour blinds.

Good luck to everyone playing today, and there are several other APAT-ers on the list above, so hopefully we"ll take this down.
