This will be quite a tester.  I hope players turn up now after reserving seats.

...would be worth anyone who has registered but then can"t go for some reason, giving the casino a call and letting them know...avoid some possible mayhem...

When I used to frequent the Fullhouse, as a member you were allowed to pre-register for tournys by phone. However if you failed to show, without calling first, you lost the right to do this.

Could something similar be put in place for the regionals. ie a yellow card warning if you do it once and a red card (banned from pre-registering for the next regional) if you do it again. Any thoughts

Great idea and I would support that 100%. But that would rely on an efficent Casino, and Casino staff, and from what I have seen up to now I am not convinced that most of them are up to implementing such a plan.

Gala Edinburgh were well on the ball at the first regional and seem very competent.

I"m looking forward to Saturday ......

Re: Cardiff

I"ve spoken to the cardroom again tonight, and they confirm that there is NO pre-registration.
The casino opens at 2pm on Saturday, so it should prove interesting...

Yeah I"ve phoned them up and got the same response. As one of the regional assistant managers I"ll try and sort this out so that phone registration is possible. Will let you know how I get on.

Ok guys we have managed to sort out the phone pre-registration for Cardiff.

They will now take pre-registrations over the phone so long as you call them after 7pm and ask to be put through to the cardroom.

Hope this helps and hope everyone enjoys the regional on Saturday.

Any other questions just post a reply and I"ll answer.

Cheers,

David.

based on a average attendance and if you go the distance - how late does a regional normally go on until??

In October, 23 played in Newcastle and it was over by around 20:30. 53 played in Edinburgh and it finished at around 23:30.

If you"re planning a night out after it, I wouldn"t think you"ll be dancing much before midnight (unless the Casino music is to your liking or you catch a miracle card to stay in)!

The last one in Manchester went on until 1.15am, I crashed out 4th at 11.45pm!
There were too many breaks, and they seemed a bit lengthy, particularly when chipping up for the final two tables. But still great fun, and a good bunch of players, who actually looked like they were enjoying the game!!

I"ve got a similar problem, except that I don"t drive.

So if I go deep in the tournament in Brighton I"ll just have to wait until the first train in the morning.

Although, "...if I go deep...", so there shouldn"t be anything for me to worry about.  :-\
