Just registered for Walsall, number 6 on the list.  Staff very helpful, just phone 01922 645222 and let them know you want to register for the APAT event on Saturday.

PLEASE NOTE - Walsall event starts at 3.30pm, doors open at 3pm and you need to pay by 3.15pm if you are on the list or you lose your reservation.

See you all in the car park about quarter to three on Saturday...

Edinburgh and Newcastle Update

Edinburgh is Open for Registration. Call 0131 338 4444 and ask for the Cash Desk. They have a sheet there.

Newcastle is Open for Registration. Call 0191 260 3303 and ask for the Cardroom.

TYVM Mary for helping me on the Edinburgh side of things.

Neil

Walsall seems fine now. They know exactly what"s going on and seem helpful.

See you there!

PLYMOUTH & BRIGHTON UPDATE
...

Brighton will take registrations after 7pm on 01273 326514 and ask to speak to the cardroom.  The casino opens at 2pm on Saturday and you will need to have paid for your seat by 2:20pm at the latest to guarantee your seat.

Any problems, let me know.

Leigh

I phoned Brighton about 8 last night, spoke to the cardroom - and they said that they definitely couldn"t take reservations for the Saturday APAT tournament and you could only buy in today.

I"ll try again tonight and see if the updated news has filtered through yet.

Any news on Luton??

Are they taking phone registrations now? (I could call them myself but I"m far too lazy for that!  ;) )

Re Manchester
Sir Percy posted that only the final table will be dealer dealt, is this going to be the case? For the first tourney lack of dealers was okay, teething problems etc, but I would have hoped that for the next regional, dealers should be sorted. Particularly as the next National event is there, after all a level of confidence in the venue needs to be reached.
Also I registered yesterday and was told that I was in and so long as I turned up and paid before 1.30pm I was in! Clarification required I think?

read the start of this thread.

dealers only on last 2 tables. self dealt otherwise. This is due to staffing problems at the casinos

Sadly not every event will be entirely dealer dealt, it depends on the staffing situation in each of the casinos. This is outside APAT's control but we have of course made continued representations that all venues should provide dealers if at all possible, and received assurances that final two tables will be dealer dealt everywhere.

As to the reservation, it is as you say..the seat is reserved and you need to be there to pay for it before 1.30pm or else it will be released

Re: Dealers

As I understand the first leg at Luton was all dealer dealt (can someone confirm this?), will there now not be dealers at this venue?

For a £20 tournament I would consider dealers as a bonus, but it would be good to know what to expect beforehand (so I can practise my abysmal shuffling if necessary!)

Cheers
