Well done to all the final tablers and the winner!!

Another great weekend, its great to have the APAT's back. Sounds like the live feed was a rousing success!

Great to meet up with people again, really enjoyed my first table, the craic was superb, sorry for talking the ear off gary and Robyn!

Gutted for Phil "TC" Tompkinson, played brilliantly and went out in 13th, that FT is coming mate, keep going!

Really looking forward to the rest of the season.

Just got back to the Duchy of Cornwall after a great trip to Wales. I would have been satisfied if I got into the top half, so to make it all the way to the final table was very satisfying. I was happy with my play, my good hands held up and it only took two pieces of luck to make it to the final table.

The spirit and camaraderie was as good as ever, as was the organisation- well done to Team APAT and Aspers and thank you to Betfair for the free drinks and the value added.

And spare a thought for my team captain, Dave Potter who had to drive all the back to Cornwall as the Bubble Boy after having AA cracked by J4!!
It's only a Game

I could list my APAT achievements here, but I am too modest, and there isn't enough space

PLO

Dave "Allinbob" Green wins the side event, and wins an APAT Pro seat.

Well played Dave(do you know what I passed there) Green, it was a pleasure to sit alongside you what a great craic, I had to shoot away so didn"t get to hear of your win "til now.
Passing massive hands can be KOOL!!!!! ;D

WELL DONE

I was also pleased with my own performance, going out in about 35th! Exit hand found me looking down at As, and calling a push all in by a lady with a short stack, then being called by another. Hoping to get a big, near triple up!

Lady had 56s Other caller QQ me AA :)

End result: Came third in the hand :(  Queen on flop, then Lady completes her flush!! FML!

But to be honest it didnt really matter, just enjoyed the experience. Had registered for London but have had to cancel as realised I had made another arrangement on 17th ::)

Anyway, just a big thank you to the organisers, I look forward to my next event!

Good to hear you enjoyed your first APAT and 35th is certainly respectable. Never good to go out on a bad beat (i went out to a two-outer on the river in my first!) but at least you did nothing wrong and enjoyed it. Shame you can"t make London but hopefully see you at a future one.

See you at the Vic.

Sorry Gaz, did no-one tell you. If you win your first APAT you"re barred from all future events.  ;)

Andy - the guy sat to your right for half of day 1 and all of day 2 enviously eyeing your chips!

Another great event and great craic. More of the same please. :)

Many congrats to all final tablers/winners esp. Dave Green PLO, Paul McG ME, and "The Mole" in the professional series.

Thanks to everyone for making it a fun and memorable weekend and to APAT for just getting better and better. Look forward to doing it again soon.

Thanks Leigh, Richard, Des and team for a great weekend.  The venue and general setup was first class.  Reports from home only sing the praises of the commentary and moving pictures coverage.

24 hours on, I am firmly over the exit hand; it has to happen to someone and this time it was my turn.  WP to all those who made it to the final table and I look forward the next time I can make it to a live event.

Thanks for the thought Bob, and Ian for your words just before I departed for home.  An hour or two of Frankie Boyle certainly helped to lighten the mood!

Its a great game and, for me, it is the downswings that make the successes all the sweeter.

All the best,

Dave

Just trawled through the 58 pages of the thread! Sounds like we missed a real treat with the Ant & Dec Rich & Leigh APAT.tv show.

As you can imagine, I had an absolutely fantastic weekend as all APAT weekends are (although this one stands out for some reason  ::)). Many thanks to all the well-wishers - it"s always nice to see people have been-rooting for you. It"s great to be back in the fold.

I"d just like to say a special thank you to Paul MacGuinness top, top man who embodies the spirit of APAT) who selflessly offered me a bed on the Saturday night after I made day 2 without a hotel room booked (ever the optimist me!). Having cashed at the Welsh event for the last 3 years now, I think next year I"ll take a bit of a punt and get a hotel booked!

Very well done to Gareth on the win and to Carl on the silver and a comeback of Lazarus proportions. Can"t wait for London now!

Des, Rich, Leigh - gg gents. And Maylis, very nice to meet you.

Another bunch of APAT experiences................Alan Lake"s loose aggressive maniac style on my first (and only) table. Very entertaining to watch if you"re not on the receiving end. I can see how he builds some big stacks................. playing alongside Jack Prime for my entire tournament, but not his (well done Jack).................playing cash against the locals who made Alan look tight - eg bet £50 PF UTG, folded around, win £2 and show Q4; eg2 Flop 779, WASP bets £5, I call with K9, local raises all-in for £90, WASP calls with T7, I fold, local shows K2...................the bra that ended up in the room Dave Green, Colin O"P & I were sharing.................Dave being rubbed down by the dealer for folding double-suited Kings preflop but then winning the Omaha (almost the dream final with Colin coming 3rd).................... playing limit (not pot-limit) Omaha high-low for a couple of hours with Leigh W, Paul McG, Colin O"P, Dave G, Brendan B and Dai who came second in the PLO with Dave raising/reraising every street without looking at his cards and showing down the best hand nearly every time. Even when Brendan scooped a big pot with A4 on a 235xx board, Dave turned over his cards and found A4 to split the scoop............. putting the cards away and discovering the A of Spades had been in the box all the time and we had played with 51 cards.................breakfast on Paul McG today after he had made a quick bet passing the roulette table and won £175................

A few of the regulars were missed though, both for the craic and in the overall standard of play. I hope a venue with greater capacity is found for next year.
