How to luckbox your way to a big donkament win - All Hands
« on: March 17, 2010, 19:09:39 PM »
OK... for those that have the patience of a saint and like these sort of things, I have found a cool, free, hand-history replayer and will share my PS Sunday Warm-Up with y"awl.

Idiotic Plays Disclaimer: It should be noted that this was basically a freeroll, via 500 FPP Step 1 > Step 2 > Step 3 to Step 4, $215 ticket... I started out just with the hope of cashing to convert the FPPs to some much needed cash. This is not posted as an example of how to play poker and I take no responsibility for any losses incurred due to copying any of my "moves"*, however I will expect 5% of any gains!!!

This is the first eight levels - http://www.myhands.com/poker-hands/all/hand?nid=210357

Lev IX to XVI - http://www.myhands.com/poker-hands/all/hand?nid=210359

Lev XVII to XXIV - http://www.myhands.com/poker-hands/all/hand?nid=210697

Lev XXV to XXXII - http://www.myhands.com/poker-hands/all/hand?nid=212244

Final Table - http://www.myhands.com/poker-hands/all/hand?nid=213831

If you see anything odd that doesn"t appear to be just blind luck feel free to ask questions, whether I"ll be able to remember my reasoning (assuming that I actually had some) is another matter, but I"ll try.

Stayed tuned for further groundbreaking installments.

*I do actually have one "move" which I have not seen documented previously, that"s not to say it is unique to me and others may do "it" also. I will be interested to see if anyone spots it and bothers to mention it... from memory I think I made it twice, both times successfully++.

++ PS. I"m not referring to the "Mis-Timed-Re-Steal-Suck-Out" move!  ::)

On the Two Plus Two podcast they always run through the weekend"s big winners online and it"s usually a bunch of random crazy monikers.

So I just loved hearing them say "..and Poket Fiver Rio Rodent took down the Sunday Warm-Up..." and thinking, I know that guy (sort of :))

Congrats

Yes, I thought the 8 on the river was particularly poetic.  ;D

This was one of the plays that I can"t really justify. I have never been a great user of the "re-steal", at the levels I normally play people find it very hard to fold! I had made a concious decision to play much more aggressively in this, if I got a decent size stack.

Obviously the timing gets lost in these replayers, but I really didn"t expect a "snap call" here with a pair of 8"s... pretty bad play IMO.

There"s a worse "mis-timed-re-steal-suck-out" move later, where we were very even in chips, at least this time I did still have a perfectly playable stack if it all went tits-up. As the old adage goes, "Better to be lucky than good."

I refer the honourable gentleman to my previous post; And, Oh there is some, but overall I"m very happy with the way I played it... and that is not being totally results oriented!!   ::)

No use discovering the power of the "Re-Steal" and not incorporating the "Re-Re-Steal" with it.  8)
