Dial a Dealer Home Game
« on: October 22, 2007, 22:56:54 PM »
I recently won a voucher for a dial a dealer home game on a Virgin freeroll. This is where you get a professional dealer complete with table, chairs, chips, and cards to run your home game.

I was wondering if anyone has used this service or experienced it at someone"s home game as I would be very interested on hearing their feedback.

Not had any experience myself, but heard they are very good.

Make sure you post back on here after your home game and tell us how you got on.

well winning this as a prize is quality, but iv just been on their website and looks like they charge £250 for a 10 man home game.
thats a joke. ok i undertand they have to charge for their time, equipment and travel. but their charge is not wot im questioning here. im questions the crazy looney people would pay this for a 10 man home game. you would be better off sticking all that as a prize pool?!
website is: [removed as commercial link].

really defeats the object of a home game to me.
good luck with your though, i would love to have a dealer for free  ;D

Hey Max,

I have had this experiance, I exchanged a Casino membership and got a voucher through Poker player promo.  The dealer we got was superb, really enhancing the whole night....arrived prompt, all top equipment, with chairs too!, so no worries about height differences etc...we told him the structure we"d like, he sorted the blinds (if your unsure for time scales..)

4hrs of pure poker at home, it was great.  Trust me you play some many more hands than you would do normally, as the dealing is quicker , the pots sorted quicker and he kept the game flowing.

Great banter, the dealer we had was called JD, and he dealt in the WSOPE the week before us, and a week before that a Hen night for beginners...so what ever your standard, it"ll be a top night.

Enjoy...

but would you say the night is worth £250+vat???
i would rather have the money in my pocket (or at least one of me mates ;)) than a dealers

just seems very expensive for a "10 man home game"

Waz, thanks for the feedback especially regarding the speed of play as that was one of my main concerns, my aim would be to try to play two 10 seater STTs without booking additional time.

Asarge, I am with you as well, nice thing for free but no way I"d pay nearly £300 for it.

Will let you know how it goes although the ideal home game is definitely one where I win.

I agree i"d not pay the £300 odd quid for it...but it was a great night..I think alot of the business is done for corporate or "high flyers"..prem footballers for a start...heard a great story...

Max, the speed is unreal, we fitted in 2 8 men touneys at 15min blinds, with a break.so it will be perfect...he /she / you, just tweak the blinds.  If you state you want 2 tournys with 10 players....that is what you"ll get...!

Have a good one.
