I tried to register for the Scottish Amateur on Betfair but the site says that registration is closed with only 60 players in the holding tank.  Yesterday the site said there were up to 72 entries but it didn"t seem to be accepting any more players beyond 60.

Near the start of this thread someone said that the field after the venue change will be 100 players, or maybe slightly more.  Does anyone know what the cut off number actually is?

Am I doing something wrong or is the tournament just full.  Is there any system of alternates during early levels at the event?  Finally, is there an administrator to whom I should be sending questions like these?

Thanks for any help!

The holding tank has closed a week before the event. This is because there needs to be sufficient time to transfer prize pool funds to the venue

The capacity of the event is 120, and the venue itself can sell you a ticket if you are there in person before the day, or on the day itself if tickets are still available (should be)

Alternates for the first two levels

Thanks for the advice - I"ll be visiting family in Aberdeen anyway, so I"ll swing by the venue and try to sign up.

I have spoken to John at the International and we"ll run STTs to the Pro League on the Saturday night for those interested (APATers visiting and locals) These will be dealer dealt

Also, they are prepared to put on a small NLHE Tournament on the Sunday afternoon for visiting players at a loose end who can"t stretch to the Pro League

The Casino has been selling seats for the last 2 weeks. Most of Aberdeenshire have been waiting to see how they ran in the Nuts National Final 2 weekends ago and the Summer Series last weekend, before committing. Seats are starting to move now, 20 sold at this end, I would expect that to at least double before Saturday taking the number past the magic 100 mark. FYI there has never been a 100+ game in an Aberdeen Casino, closest we got was 98 at the beginning of this year, so with any luck you guys will be making a bit of history in this town :)
Parking is a real problem in Aberdeen, with spaces at a premium due to the huge cost of land. Overnight parking can be found close to the Casino in Union Square for £2/Night, but it will cost considerable more to leave your car there during the day. I cant comment on the availability of G"s Car Park. Those of you travelling by car, if you PM me with details of which Hotel you are in, I will advice you on best places to park.
