I just wanted to let you know that henceforth on these updates, no thread will be complete without a picture of an Orange boat. Aberdeen Harbour is literally across the road from the Casino. The casino itself is an imposing Granite building, quite Art Deco in aspect and decor.

The staff could not do more to help and he we are, the players happily playing away to the accompaniment of the World Cup in the background and the soothing sound of chips being riffled echoing across the felt.

Aberdeen itself is in Scotland. Very in Scotland. I went to the shop to buy a few things this morning and I literally could not understand the lady behind the counter. I was sure she was Norwegian. However it appeared not, when the man in the queue behind me assured me she wasn"t.

This all possibly explains why I received only £3 change from a £20 note for a bottle of Lucozade , a Cheese sandwich and a copy of the Financial Times

Hard times for the English dear reader, hard times

Ironside news

He lost half his stack calling a raise with A-9, and seeing a board of 9-K-3, calling a c-bet, and seeing an Ace on the turn. His short-stacked opponent had A-K

He then got that stack back with Q-Q v 6-6 on a K-Q-6 flop, as you would!

He is now on 11,000

Yes, on the feature table. He ran J-J into K-K having lost a good part of his stack  before that
