Socks / no socks
« on: July 07, 2010, 10:29:33 AM »
I went to the pub last Saturday, sat outside in the sunshine, wearing a t-shirt, shorts white trainers and white ankle socks. When a guy came and sat at the next table wearing a t-shirt, shorts, sandals and white socks that went up to his knees. My first thought was he must be German but no he was a Yorkshiremen.

For the last four nights I have been laid awake wondering what the correct way to wear shorts and sandals/trainers/shoes with socks?

Should you wear socks with sandals?
If you have white trainers can you get away with black socks?

Can someone tell me the correct equate please so I can get a good night's sleep

^^ This.

Even with trainer socks, try and make them the same colour as the lining of the shoe. If there"s one thing we can learn from the world of football - and there is only one - it"s the thing about cycling shorts having to be the same colour as the shorts themselves.

Sleep well.

Even trainer liner socks are a bit gay !!! ;)
No socks with Sandals, Deck Shoes, and Trainers when casual.
When playing sport ankle socks are fine with trainers, white socks with white trainers!

Not saying they should or shouldn't, just asking the question

Depends on the type of sandal. Not thos ehorrible old leather type that you Dad wore, but the sporty type that are all over the place are fine.  :)

Not saying they should or shouldn't, just asking the question

but you asked the question specifically about sandals, and  that infers that you do have a view one way or the other..... you didn"t ask the question about whether men should wear trainers or not, and that implies that this is obviously accepted.... therefore, your insinuation is that sandals should not be worn.

by the way - I"m in flip flops right now and socks are impossible.... but that bit between the toes does get so annoying sometimes.

Put a sock in it you lot! I mean... which poor sole would foot the bill for leather sandals anyway..... Mikey ? Welly would, wouldn"t he... heel be well up for those with his broken toe (s"true actually!). This thread should be booted off the General Poker Discussion board anyway, it"s clogging things up.  ;D  :D
