I dunno about that.  Britney was a pretty good hostess by all accounts.

So setting up in the Poker Room

Good news is that the event is sold out at 180 players with a waiting list

Of these 120 are Estonian and 60 are Overseas. Latvians, Finns, Swedes, Russians, Brits and Gerard Smyth, origin unknown

Today"s TDs are Priit Pajuumaa and the delightful Maria. Sadly Priit goes home at 6pm and Maria takes over. Toasty life for Tighty!

Priit tells me that in 2007 Bluff Europe magazine voted Tallinn as the "third hottest European Poker City" behind London and Dublin.

At the time Estonian casinos only had six poker tables total!

Since then though Estonian poker has taken off. Betfair Live, Ladbrokes and Expekt events have been hosted here, as well as Swedish Poker Championships and in August EPT Tallinn comes to town, hosted by and managed by Priit and his team. The Estonia National Champiopnships attracted 70 runners two years ago, and this year nearly 300.

In terms of a player base he reckons Estonia has about 30,000 poker players and it is growing all the time.

Estonia itself, and the casinos within it have had a rough time, very impacted by the credit crunch affecting their newer industries, but things are now on the way back up.

The tournament itself is running over two floors and we"re based downstairs. Sweeney will be on stair duty. Haven"t told him yet though

Already laid out on various tables, fresh fruit and soft drinks free of charge.

Betfair Poker banners up. Valets hovvering nearby

This is going to be a corker.

I think Jon Young was editor then... someone must have tipped him off. Sorry, Jon. ;D

...and there lies the case for the defence when questioning whether APAT expansion into Europe is a good thing or not!!

Excellent turn-out!  Would be great to see a local take it down, but best of the luck to the Brits (and Ger) though!!

Good Morning UK/ Afternoon Estonia.

I have just sat down and I am loading some pictures up to show you my tour of Estonia, the Old town is a town full of character and some lovely architecture, and they play on the medieval heavily.

But before all that it was decided last night that the holiday anthem would be this;

With Stuart Ward claming that he is better than Axel Rose. Ger has the video, I"m sure you"ll decide when that surfaces.

I"ll give you a hint on the quality of the singing though, reports suggest there were 7 other people in the bar when they started and none at the end of the air guitar solo.
