And while one player"s all in goes pear-shaped, another"s does what he intended it to:  Nick Gibson (who told me that what I reported he told me (which he actually told me) about his luck A-K yesterday made him look like a donkey because I "left out the thought process" - what can I say?) just re-raised all in preflop with another  ah kh over the top of Jaspers" raise to 16k.  With a total of 40k, the call came quickly.  Jaspers had  ac ::.

Just before that hand, Nick was muttering that the poker gods must be saving up his good hands as he"d seen nothing but low low rubbish for ages. Good old Ace King suited.

Yes, I feel terrible. Ultimate Bok is the worst kind of spell you can cast. The victim ends up back at Day 1 of the tournament, with all his special swords gone. Sorry, Rumit.

Michael Martin, if he stacks in stacks of 25, which I am thinking he does, has over 380k at this point.  He briefly removed his hat and Dana tried to get a picture of his hathair but a man stood in front of the rail and it was, sadly, impossible.

Yes, sorry, he had the hat most of the way back on before I could snap him. You"re right though, Reader, the hair is looking pretty terrible.

Also on Michael Martin"s table is this gent, Heinz someone or other, who has 57 varieties of chips in front of him, stacked in a giant mountain that he is hugging, topped with a little tiny guy made out of plastic.

Peter Dalhuijsen was knocked back to a short stack after doubling up Guillaume de la Gorce, who raised to 21k, and then shoved for 90k over the top of Peter"s raise to 60k (an unimproving K-Q vs. 9-9).

But just now, he got his remaining 75k or so in preflop with  :as: called by an end-of-the-line looking   ah kd...

Double through for Dalhuijsen, while it was Christian Grundtvig (pictured) nursing a 75k gap in his stack (which is still comfortably around 300k).

Over on the feature table, there is action! It"s between one Mr Parkinnen, he of the oversized (or possibly undersized, combined with oversized skull; see yesterday"s advice about Large Hat Purchasing) baseball cap, and the gent in the brown Adidas top, who is Frenchman Mr Simon Larcheveque.

Larcheveque raises, and Parkkinen calls.

Flop -  :: jh and Larcheveque checks his hole cards. Don"t know about you, but usually when I do that it"s to check that my Aces are still Aces and haven"t transformed into 2-7. He has ample time to make sure, though, because Parkkinen dwells up for ages. Eventually he goes all in. Instacall.

And Parkkinen and his massive hat are consigned to the rail. I guess it"s now late enough in the tournament for applause to accompany an exit though, because there is more than a smattering of hand-clapping to accompany his Long Walk.

Two posts up from yours there is a picture from the rail (sadly the angle is such that the back of his head is really the only option unless I were to throw something over the rail at him - I can do that but better not until it gets towards the end of the day in case I get thrown out).

You can see his stack there - but it"s grown considerably.  I have a feeling he may have knocked out Johan Storakers, whom I saw giving an exit interview to a camera.  I am fairly confident he"s broken the half million chips mark and is the Leader.

A quick reminder of what will be awarded tonight - at the moment we are in the 19-21 frame, so the next player out is guaranteed €17,000.  I imagine play will stop only when the final table is reached, unless they just don"t knock people out enough and then play will stop, as is traditional, when the casino closes.

We thought this place was pretty busy on a Wednesday night, but tonight, someone informed me, is Friday night - and the crowds reflect the weekend atmosphere.  It is now so thick with railers around the tables that people are struggling to get through to the roulette and blackjack tables in the middle of the room, or to the bar at the back.  There will be a break at the end of this level, and we can get in to count the chips, but until then please listen to some relaxing music, or may I recommend playing online arcade games to pass the time.  Just in case I can get to the front, I am going back upstairs.
