1.50 CAVIAR GOLD CUP Handicap Chase
For this race I have plumped for good recent form to split my shortlist.
That left me with -
Tenor Nivernais who won nicely lto at Ascot.
Annacotty - won lto and still hc"d imho to produce back to back wins.
Little Jon - his form ties in with the above.
10/1  8/1  8/1  readily available for the three and I"ve backed all three plus layed Mozoltov.

Buywise got discounted for his jumping.
Sound Investment cut due to ground.
Johns Spirit cut due to form and a uninspired jockey booking from Jonjo.
Champagne West cut because of no recent run.

there"s some good racing at Cheltenham today but I"ll swerve the temptation and wait until the festival.

the 2.25 looked the best betting race and Tenor Nivernais  at 6/1 ew wouldn"t be the worst bet ever.
as for Johns Spirit I can"t work out what"s happening jockey wise and at 12/1 and  on a good racing weight  compared to the field was nearly a tempting small win bet.


edit - and at Donny in the 3.15 skybet chase Holywell under top weight cannot be discounted plus Ziga Boy warranted a 2nd look on his cd win.

Newbury 13th Feb Betfair Hurdle
Blazer is worthy of a good size stake. Geraghty doesn"t get down to such a low riding weight for also rans.
Others worth a dabble imho are Stenrubin, Forest Bihan and Zarib.

the gold cup is the one I"m most looking forward to, on paper it should be a cracker.
