Haven"t really bothered with the gee-gee"s this year tbh but was desperate for the loo on Thursday, while unfortunately getting a new bathroom fitted. Nipped down my local Coral shop and decided to make a donation as I was feeling guilty about using their convenience. Stuck a fiver E/W on Close To The Edge at Wolverhampton and it finished strongly as expected to win at 12/1  ;D

MBFN

Yeah mate it was FN, but only pays for the new towels for the new bathroom. I really need to stop telling Anne about these things  :D

ok i"ll take on the two big sprints, in the Ayr gold cup Mac"s Power put up by pricewise stands out but isn"t for me at the prices offered.
Eton Rifles is a bit skinny odds wise and i"d question him having the raw speed needed to win this... of the other fancied runners i have put a line through Hawkeyethenoo and Pepper Lane, wrong ground for the former and wrong type of track for the flying filly...

AYR 3:20 - William Hill Ayr Gold Cup
Croisultan - ground no problem.. win - x
High Standing - hc has tumbled down the weights and his lto at Goodwood behind Libranno gives him a great chance today if he re-produces that... ew - x
Brave Prospector - another who has come down markedly in the weights, if he shows his 09 form plus the drop in weights and change of yard then Fahey may of got this plotted up just right... ew - x

AYR 2:15 - William Hill Ayr Silver Cup
Elusive Prince - x
Edinburgh Knight - x

TBH Wayne I"d be eyeing up any of last year"s C/D winners if ground is running fairly similar and not too much disadvantage in the weights. York for me is one of those "Horses for Courses" tracks........same can be said about any horse that wins races at the likes of Pontefract or Hamilton, both having a stamina busting uphill finish. I"m sure Noble and a few others will be more helpful naming specific horses (I can"t access race cards on my work"s PCs but will have a look at home nearer the time)

Looking at 2 at the moment, in the 2.50 Dick Doughtywylie and in the 3.25 Roger Sez can you give me a good reason why not to back them?
