Here"s a vid of Able Friend with his best performance in the HK Mile with the likes of Trade Storm and Captain Cat well and truly beaten. Bloody good fractions set in the last 2furlongs off a very strong pace gives AF a great shout today IF he takes to Ascot and a straight mile.

Another interesting vid of American Pharoah in the Belmont ran along side Secretariats race, guess who"d win?  :) only approx 14 lengths in it ;D

-8 points today day2 leaves the fred total overall currently at +273.71 points.

A rather unlucky day lol , 2nd and 3rd"s which could of been better given that little bit of luck in running. At least i"m hitting the cross bar, it"d be more frustrating if my selections were bringing up the rear.
The unluckiest trip has to go The Grey Gatsby though, Western Hymn normally hangs left which i suspect Spencer was expecting to happen AND what happens WH hangs right lol...
It doesn"t surprise me Botti was upset about how quickly the handlers gave up on Euro Charline, i"ve definitely seen them try harder with far more stubborn types. Integral was there to be taken on, in all now eight fillies to have carried a Group-1 penalty into this race have been beaten, including now Integral and Soviet Song. [there you go Mr Cunningham, a decent fact/stat to say rather than the nonsense you come out with ::)]
Day3 to look forward to with 2 tricky 3yo handicaps and the Gold Cup looking open. Day4+5 have the races i"m most looking forward to BUT i"ve now turned the volume off whenever Cunningham speaks about draws or form ;D

Day 3 June 18th

Royal Ascot
4.20 - Gold Cup
Forgotten Rules @11/4  6point win
Mizzou @11/2  3point win
Vent De Force @9/1  2point win

I"m looking at this given my strike rate over the years in this race, Rite of Passage included. Profit is the main aim, the only dangers imho are Trip to Paris and Kingfisher. The former because the ground and trip might bring about improvement and he hasn"t got to make a enormous leap in the ratings. The latter because you"ve got to respect O"Briens record in this race. Both have to reverse the form though with the top 3, so at the odds from a win perspective i"ll steer clear.

ty Wayne, todays races apart from the Gold Cup imo have a barrel load of variables to give the layers hope :) and which horse will that be at Carlisle?

Right on to the cavalry charge Britannia, i"m hoping Hanagan has chosen the wrong horse [thats if he had a choice] because i"m more drawn to Sahaafy who made mince meat of Angel Vision at Newmarket lto. Collateral form wise on a line through AV Sahaafy may still be nicely weighted if go by Hundi"s performance in the Sandringham [surprise surprise trained by Hills]
Another in the Britannia that might go ok at the odds is Bow And Arrow, not the greatest draw in one but Doyle has swapped horses with Buick [work that one out :)] Bow And Arrow has a squeak if he reproduces his Beverley form when he beat Gerry The Glover plus it had Enlace out of its comfort zone pace wise.

Day 3 June 18th

Royal Ascot
5.00 - Britannia Stakes
Sahaafy @10/1  2point win
Bow And Arrow @25/1  1point win

Day 3 June 18th

Royal Ascot
2.30 - Norfolk Stakes
giving this one a pass, apart from the obvious obvious Waterloo Bridge could spring a shock because of the obvious :)

3.05 - Tercentenary Stakes
pass on this one, not even a each way punt :o i did lots of head scratching looking through this one :) i"d prefer being a layer in this one. Time Test the obvious but not bomb proof. Cape Clear Island, Disegno and Peacock look the main dangers.

3.40 - Ribblesdale Stakes
Curvy @7/1  2points ew

5.35 - King George V Stakes
Space Age @12/1  0.5point ew

nice pick, you said you do not do ew  :)

i do it when i think its appropriate :)

+11 points today day3 leaves the fred total overall currently at +284.71 points.

lots of thoughts on the Gold Cup best kept to myself :) anyhows for the fred i got it wrong and in hindsight should of spread the points across the five i pinpointed.
tomorrow is another day though and the Duke of Edinburgh is the target race, i"ve a good record over quite a few years in that as well [just to put the kibosh on myself :)]
its fast turning into a procession for Moore, yes he has decent horses but this week he"s riding at a different level to a normally top world class level. what level is the next up from world class?  :)

This is the second tip I have had for Hootenanny. I haven"t bet on the geegees for a while. It is 100/30 best price with Paddy Power. Must be worth a couple of quid with the best jockey on board.
