The TV table is on a kind of raised stage, which together with the holecardcamerafilled edge makes it impossible to see anything at all from the floor.  We are getting our flop info from the monitors all over the casino.  At least you know that when we report the cards, they"re actually accurate...

To be honest this has been one of the worst tournaments to cover access-wise I"ve attended in years, but interesting nonetheless. 

The table also appears to be tipped at a bit of an angle towards the main casino floor, which means that if we stand at the less-crowded sides of the table as opposed to at the front, there is no view of the felt at all, let alone fripperies like flops and bets. Sigh. Off-the-monitor snaps are our best bet, I"m afraid.

I know! That lady standing by him as he waits to make his Entrance is just regular-sized, I checked.

A massive hand between Michael Martin and Trond Eidsvig, and not a card that we were allowed to see.

Michael raises.

Trond re-raises, to well over 100k.

Michael tanks up. There is some discussion with the dealer; perhaps they are threatening to call the clock. He does something a bit unexpected after a dwell like that, though - he re-re-raises to around 400k.

Trond looks ill. Suddenly his good humour has evaporated. He considers for some time (no clock-calling is threatened, by the look of it), but folds.

If by some miracle Michael wasn"t chip leader before, he very definitely is now.

Tristan has been attempting to get busy the past few hands, but shortstacked, his only move is all in before the flop, and no-one has taken the bait yet. He has to find a caller sooner or later though.

I recall Tristan from the World Series. I think he got in the money if I remember correctly. Scottish lad I believe, or was he Irish? Well, one of the two anyhow, definitely not Welsh!

Unbelievable. Somehow all in preflop, Noah Boeken holding  ad and Micke Norinder (the official list says Mikael but the name on his shirt yesterday, just underneath the Swedish flag, said Micke) holding  ah kc.

They"re already shaking hands before the flop is dealt.

The cameras periodically zoom in on Marcel Luske in the audience. Ever since we found that Marcel Luske Poker Box Set yesterday, I can"t think of anything else when I see him. The mystique has gone somehow.

Michael Martin takes another 100k or so off of Trond Eidsvig with, er, K-6, which is good on some kind of board that we can"t see, probably involving a King or possibly a Six. Looks like it"s his day.

Trond, on the other hand, is starting to look like he might cry.

A board reading  qc :: is checked down between Tristan and Micke until the river, when Micke bets. Tristan folds. Though he may not be the nervous type according to Jen"s interview with him earlier today, Tristan is starting to look just a little tense now that they"re down to the last five. It"s a lot of money they"re playing for, and the stress may be beginning to show.

Another dent in Trond Eidsvig"s stack comes when he becomes the first to crack and call one of Tristan McDonald"s preflop all-ins - for around 210k.

Well, they"ve turned off the feed to the TV table, and there"s no sign of the players upstairs so I assume they"ve gone for dinner.  Expect a restart in about 45 minutes.  If they suddenly come back, don"t worry, we"ll write all the interesting stuff down and if you read it with a gap of 5 mins between posts it"ll be like it"s happening real time.

He sounds English to me when he talks. Don"t let that name fool you! It"s like how the McDonalds corporation sound like they"re going to be Scottish, but they"re actually from America, or everywhere, or the bowels of Hell, or something.
