Better than yours phil, unfortunately some of us actually have to WORK for work...  :-*

So! We aer returning to where it all began tonight, The Eagle pub on a thursday night... oh my.

Should be a fun night at least, but i will NOT be relying on it as a barometer of how i am playing.

Unless i win.

Tonight i shall mostly be raising. Lots.

Obviously one of the perils of being an aggressor is that occasionally you will find someone demonstrating their defiance with monster hands like  kc :2c:
On the plus side you did increase your stack of Sklansky dollars....

Right, before poker tonight a full and reasoned explanation of my post from last thursday!

As said, played at the local the other night, 9 person £10 sng.

I feel like i played the best i have played for months as it happened. Was very aggressive, raising alot and attacking weak play as i wanted to. Not felt in control of a table like that for AGES.

1st hand i got screwed over in...

i have 88, raise it up pre about 4.5 times the bb due to a couple of limpers.

Hit my 8 on the flop. Cant remember the details but i bet out, get a call off one of the more... interesting... players in the pub, who ends up hitting the straight he called down with (he called the raise pre flop with J9 off!!), costing me half my stack when i folded to his shove on the river. NH Sir...

THEN, i build my stack back up to about 6k from 2k in the period following the break, again am playing well.

Am oin SB, it is folded round to our friend from previous hand, who raises to 1200 with blinds 200/400.

I look down and see AQ off, and re pop him to 4,2k, He loks at me and shove, so i obv call. He shows K2 clubs.

I even manage to hit my A on the flop. Which is nice until he hits a club on the turn and river to get a runner runner flush.

Wonderful.
I have since calmed down a bit and realised that i played bloody well which is nice, just need for the varience to sort its life out and i will be laughing.

In the mean time i will be back on it again tonight and will let you all know what happens.

Well, another night of pub poker is about all i will say about that!

Not really possible to play a tourny with 15 min levels and a 2.5k starting stack i dont think, but the people are nice and the food you are given is top notch. was some cracking ribs served up last night!

Thursday is next up, really looking forward to it and am looking to continue my play from last week!

There is really only so much you can say about calling a pre flop raise with 10 6 off, getting to check a K high flop, hitting your 10 on the turn and calling a fairly sizeable bet, then hitting the 5th card to your flush on the river! Oh AND putting half your stack on the line pre and snapping the tightest player in the pub when he puts you all in with A6. No binkage against his JJ unfortunately.

The Irish flips went very well mind you, hit a straight flush AND quads!

Nephew making me laugh already.

Mother ward "Right, heres some toys, sit in your seat and i will tidy up" (to the nephew not me)

Elias then proceeds to throw every toy he is given on the floor in distinctly unimpressed fashion.

get up there lad!
