Good choice for new captain imo, say what you want about Stu (most of us do and he takes it well) he is a good poker player and pantheistic paralytic most of the time.

Stu, have a good Christmas, New Year etc and I will see you in Season Six. Hopefully at another final table.

You weren"t the only one to have to google that Son and the fact that Rodders chose to use the word in your diary suggests he may have mistaken you for someone else?

Well done for taking on the Captain"s job thingy - have to see if I can"t play a few of these myself next season

I personally didnt play as many games as i should/would have liked to, this is an issue i will be rectifying next season.

Still worried that Des was so alarmed by me being appointed captain he immediately announced a change in the whole system to make sure i wasnt going to be a captain next season!

I think the Cock, Rock and fossil would be more like a tribute to the upcoming "The Hobbit" film

Really struggling to sleep at the minute, probably a side effect of working nights for 2 weeks.

SO as i was awake i thought i would do a bit of grinding on poker stars :)

not a bad little session, bought in to 7 tournies (mtts, husng) for a total of about $30 and cashed for a total of $80 in them.

Frustratingly small amounts considering i won 3 x $3.50 hu matches and got a 2nd and a 1st in 18 $5 mtt"s!

I don"t think I scored a single point this season even though I played most of the games, a mixture of playing bad and running bad, nah just playing bad.

I think I may be placed on the transfer list after last seasons efforts

Today has been a taxing one in the world of tesco.

Went in to work Thursday morning at 8am for my 8-5 shift, and was promptly asked if i would clear off home and come back in at 10pm to work a night shift, and work 10pm-7am on friday night too.

Sigh. I had previously got my thursday shift changed specifically to be able to go to play poker thursday ngiht. gg that.

So i agree and cant get a wink of sleep at all as i am not tired after a good nights kip, go back into work, work til 7am at which point my body realises it has been awake for 24 hrs and kicks off at me.

Cracking days sleep today, ready to go for another night.

Then i get invovled in a text message battle with my team leader about new years day working arrangements as we are open.

Shift that needs covering - 6am-12pm - not a nice one i can appreciate.

Now, when i was team leader, if i couldnt get shifts on bank holidays covered, i would do it myself. My manager never asked me, he never had to, but if i said no, he would have damn well told me i was doing it.

I dont mind doing my bit for the department, and have been increasingly covering more and more shifts recently.

Today i decided this stops, so i enetered hard nosed ******* mode. Im now hugely unpopular (believe that or not :p) and my team leader is working 6-15, just for good measure.

As my last text read to him.

"**** dont roll up hill.

mate."

Missed what seems like a cracking weekend in Brighton by the looks of it, I was gutted to not be able to go, so i will leave it there, apart from to say a massive well done to James Barber, who i am sure everyone will agree is one of the most popular final tabalists of all time. Massively well deserved mate, chuffed to bits for you, you defionately have a big win in one of these coming up :)

So. Instead of Brighton, i spent saturday and the night in Coventry at the Ricoh Arena.

Travelled down and arrived at mid day with Phil TC, my brother Matty, and fellow stockton massive members The Stockton Fossil, The stockton corpse, Gary Palmer and Mark Wright.

The match itself was a horror show, we got done 3-1 and ended the match with 9 men. We were poor, Coventry are possibly the worst team i have ever seen Boro play, there is no chance they are avoiding relegation.

Now, Championship ref"s. Horrendous. Truely, spectacularly Dump. Gave nothign for ages early on, then went beserk with the yellow cards out of no where. Had little to no control over the match at all. This has been a recurring theme in alot of the games i have been to recently. Something needs to be done about it!!!

Oh, and Coventry"s fans. Terrible as well. Not many turned up, and the ones that did refused to sing or make noise until they were 3-0 up and playing 10 men, and even then they shut up when we scored to make it 3-1!!!!

Right, so the match was finished, and we headed back to the bar for a few pints and to make plans. Plan turned out to be that while other people were getting themselves changed and stuff, I would drag the stockton Corpse to the bar and initiate him into the random shot game :D

He"s not a fan.

We make our way over to the casino, and get some food as we are all starving. This is where it got interesting.

The useless little nonce who was serving us could not do anything at all right. Drinks orders were messed up repeatedly, which led to me having to lend the Corpse one of my 2 pints i had til his arrived (some 30 minutes later) And the food order being butchered to hell as well, with Gary not having anything and phil getting the wrong thing!!!

We had regged for the £15 freeze out (with re entry allowed) and while we ambled accross to take our seats, Gary got all our food and drink bill for the resteraunt wiped off! WINNING!!!

Right, so the poker.

My first buy in lasted me approximately 25 minutes, as the locals took great pleasure in displaying Binkage abilities like i have never seen! I stomped off muttering under my breath about how that casino is cursed and went to the bar after poointing out to the rest of the stockton massive jsut how bad a player one of the locals actually was. 2 jaegerbombs later, and i had re registered and been seated at Phil TC"s table.

Hand of note 1

Horrible, buck toothed ginger lass of about 25 years of age who had binked a flush against me on my first table when calling a raise pre with  Qd 3d and calling bets to the river where she hit her flush, moves onto our table and into the seat next to me.

I look down at  7d 7c and limp in to see a flop 3 ways which comes  Jc Jh 7h (suits not accurate, i was pissed)

I check raise her bet whoich has been called, she flats that and the other local gets out of the way. Turn comes nothing of concequence and we get it all in, the river is a blank and her AJ c Kdes up short v my FH and she is knocked out, and i am on my way towards 25k in chips.

This stack would be up and down more than a sleeping Technolog in a hotel lift for a while, and we get moved tables again.

Hand of note 2

Sat on a table with Gary Palmer of the stockton massive, i am sb to his bb.

Random lady limps from the button, i look down at  Jh 8h in the sb and make up the rest of the 1.2k and gary decides to stick a raise in. Lady folds and i decide that seeing a flop would be a grand idea, so i call out of my stack of about 35k.

Flop comes 88x which was a pleasant surprise, and we both check it.

The turn brings more good news as a J turns up to give me the house. Another check from our sneaky hero, and Gary P puts about 6k into the pot, which after some mutterings from myself was called.

The river was nothing of note, and i bet out 14k to which Gary instantly puts his chips in, i call and show my hand, and Gary gets up and walks off chuntering non to quietly. Apparently he had KK. Oooops.

This moves me up and towards the 70k+ range and chip lead in the tourny, ahead of the stockton Corpse, and our very own Stockton rock in 2nd and 3rd.

That was until i raised my brothers BB with AA, which he called, and got it in on a flop where he hit a 4 that he had with his K against my AA, which held up and i was over 100k and on my way to the FT.

The final table was.... interesting.

I took a few more people out and was suddenly sat with around 2/3 of the chips in play at the cash bubble. So i thought it was only right to go all in every hand and decimate the now steepening blinds and effectively cripple everyone at the table.

The stockton corpse sat out effectively as i did his laddering work for him, although one guy got UL as his JJ ran into my AK which was never going to lose.

Heads up lasted about 3 hands, as i went all in blind due to the fact that i had about 9/10 of the chips, and she had sod all!

Ended up winning it for £265 notes which was a welcome bonus after the amount that had been spent on booze!!

Back at the hotel, phil and gary locked themselves out of their room, i decided that parading around the corridors of the hotel in my boxer shorts moving signs about was a cracking idea and when we eventually went to bed the whole world had been put on a turntable!!!

There we go. Possibly the longest post in APAT blog history :D

Waiting for TL;DR
