Well, the weekend of poker is about to begin.

After much humming and harrington playing the home game tonight, looking forward to it. Easy on the beer tonight as driving to dtd tomorrow but it should be fun to get a few hands in tonight and hopefully win a few pennies!!

Spent a bit of time today playing some stud, thoroughly confusing game!! Am going to put myself on the alternates list tomorrow if it hasn"t sold out so that will be interesting!!

Really just can"t wait to meet up with people now, it is, as Ger might say, going to be epic.

So, tonight see"s the Stockton on Tees home game as usual, with a twist this time!

Special guest appearance by JP Round. The massive are out in force tonight and there are 13 of us playing at the G casino, where Pokerpops has apparently managed to negotiate a free round of drinks for us with the management! How he does these things i will never know. The plus side of being a poker celebrity i suppose!!!

I am currently lobbying Phil TC and the Stockton Rock to drink all day before JP"s arrival this evening (this EVENING btw?!?! Whats THAT all about?!??). Its a ****ing lovely day up in the North East, perfect for a nice walk into yarm to sit in a beer garden or 4. Ger will be able to tell you the delightful pubs of Yarm and Eaglescliffe.

Poker wise, i won this last week somehow. As usual this involved a rebuy.

Every week I tell people I am going to play tight. Every week they call me a liar. Fairly offenseive in my opinion, Im probably the second tightest player at our homegame now!

So i raised first hand with KK from the BB. Got the usual 4 or 5 callers. Flop comes J high with 2 clubs, so i fire away again. 2 callers. Turn 3c to which Gary Palmer fires out a 2k bet (we only start with 7.5 lol) I call that as the board has paired to i have outs. Tompkyfish calls as well. River is another club. Tompkyfish shoves all in, Gary folds his 6 high flush he made on the turn. I fold my kings. GG half my stack.

THEN I get involved with 73o (still paying tight as you see) Flop A73dd I open shove for about 10x the pot and get called off by A2dd. Turn.... 3d gg rest of first stack!!!

After that, there was a bit of cardrackery and i got a double up with the first hand of my second stack. People never believeing you CAN work if you flop broadway.

The rest of it was a bit hazy, apart from my brother coming in an hour late, sitting down and hitting a full house with his first hand ad doubling up!! DO NOT PAY THE NIT!!!!!!!

Towards the end of this, the adventurous players (myself, Pokerpops, Tompkyfish) have uually been vanquished by the Nits who all just sit there and pass chips round til they have 2bb"s each, then the luckiest one wins) This time, someone let the (fat)cat amongst the pidgeons and i was able to do some late on shoving to take a few players out, despite Phils best efforts at making the whole table be card dead by dealing ****e.

Heads up lasted about 1 hand i think it was, my KQ against anths AJ. KKx flop and that was good enough!!

Right, i reckon its very nearly Beer o"clock, so if you will excuse me!

I"m confused...you have 73o..fair enough, you have a monster.

Flop comes A73dd, you flop two pair and slow play by shoving and are called by  ad1 2d...so the A on the flop wasn"t a diamond

Which means that the flop held ax 7d 3d...right?

But turn is another  3d (dead hands money returned) but you boat up..so how did you lose to an Ace high flush?

I smell bs.

Like a genius....I"m sorry you massively underestimated the strength of your villain"s hand.

There is no way they fold for a 10x pot bet with top paid and the NFD.  ::)
