Thanks all, there is still a hell of a long way to go yet, and am just hoping and praying that this progress is still there in the morning, but it is welcome if only for the sake of my mum.

I"m pretty sure that if you added "Team England 2013 WCOAP World Champions" under your England C entry your Dad would be most impressed when he wakes up. :)

Well, what a few days this has been.

Latest news is that today they have taken him off his blood pressure medication, which is massive news, and his kidneys have gone back to functioning fully, so he is making solid progress.

They think the Pneumonia is clearing as they arent sucking gunk out of his chest anymore. They did a scan 2 days ago (i think, the days are merging together at the minute!!) but they are awaiting the previous scans from before he was admitted from the other local hospital where he is getting his cancer treatment from and apparetnyl there is no news on that yet, so in the meantime they are going to continue to presume that he has/had a bloodclot on his lung and treat him accordingly

There is no news as to when they plan to bring him out of his coma, but i can assure you that as a family this will be better than every birthday, christmas, easter and anything else put together.

Thankyou all for your continued support and thoughts and prayers you have been a constant source of strength for us all.

When you got the news whilst away playing poker, and had to leave prematurely, it was a helluva throw back to Cardiff 2009 for me. I know exactly where your head was at and how you were feeling - and I know it"s not pretty!  I hope and pray that your Dad pulls through - it sounds like his progress is promising.

Just remember that your APAT family, and in particular your England team mates, will always be there for you.

So they are looking at weening him off his ventilator at the hospital, unfortunately this means having a track trach trachey a tube put into his throat for a smaller tube to be put in to help his breathing.

My mum tells me this is great progress and a step towards him waking up, but im finding it fairly difficult to be positive about it today for some reason. We have also been warned that he is very likely to have sever hallucinations when he wakes up, due to all the drugs and medicines he has been on whilst in his coma. This is not going to be any fun at all!!
