What"s the word on dress code at Coventry?
Are hoodies/hooded jackets allowed?
Website just says "smart casual" no ripped jeans, sports clothes, footbal shirts or soiled clothes (this last may be a problem for the future ex-champion)

no hoodies or trainers

I play there once a week and trainers are fine.

Sadly they do allow hoodies, caps, shades etc as well. Though this is usually restricted to the cardroom not in reception or the the main gaming areas. (in case you are an armed robber)

As it goes, the last time I played at this venue there were a couple of whipper-snapper type internet players there sporting shorts!  Shorts I tells ya...in a casino.  Shorts!

One of them was the absolute spitting image of Nelson from the Simpsons.  Good player as it happened, quite the table bully as you might expect.

Bad News Regarding the Dealers for this event.

I"ve spoken to the cardroom supervisor this evening and they have some issues for next weekend.

A) Walsall has a big comp on and cannot release any dealers to help.

B) The Vic has the GUKPT championship event on also, so all G Casinos have to send 2 dealers there to help out.

This means they will not even have all their own dealers never mind extra ones.

They were training academy dealers this evening and they were very slow. I think that we will have to be patient with some of them next week.

As tables break they will ensure the better dealers are left on where possible but it"s not going to be the best situation for us all.

thanks for letting me know, though I knew they were under the cosh with the GUKPT Grand Final on

I am sure the players will work with the new dealers.

Leigh, Maylis and I dealt three levels at Luton, so we"ll muck in if need be.

Rather than ignoring the situation and ending up with people feeling let down, I think it would be best to be up front about it and announce/request before the start of play for patience with the dealers many of whom are new due to the need for dealers at events elsewhere.

It would be easy to gloss over and pretend it"s OK but when it isn"t people complain. If they know in advance that some guys are really new then it will help I think.
