My "home" casino is the Grosvenor at Bolton. The only time they have dealers in a tournament is final table, so I"m used to self-deal and would have no problem if that"s the way it goes.

I do however agree with the "if it"s advertised it should be there"

The Walsall event was the first APAT tourney I"ve been to and I would have to say I thought it was superbly organised. I"m looking forward to Manchester (with or without dealers!!)

;)

To clarify, APAT National events will always be dealer dealt and ran with the utmost care for our members.

The plan was originally to have dealers.  But that"s not the case now.

So for this season, it"s self-deal until the final two tables.

But some regionals are supplying dealers for all the tables.
At Luton last week max. 80 runners 7 tables with dealers one without due to staff sickness on the day. If Luton can do it why cant the others, they are all part of the same chain after all.

Walsall couldn"t even provide dealers for the the final two tables.  They could only provide one for the final table.

Certainly not consistent across their whole estate are they?

This quandary is not lost on us Mike, however if we push for absolute consistency across every Regional venue we will end up losing the additional dealers available at venues like Luton.  Each casino effectively runs as a standalone business, meaning no two are the same for performance or available resources.

Does look that way. Edinburgh has had dealers for all tables for both regionals so far.

Very well run and good food.
How can you call that.... you should have bet more...... I was all-in...... well you should have had more to bet.

The situation seems to be that some casinos have hit the ground running and are offering exactly what APAT wanted to from the start.

Others are lagging a little behind them.  But even at these casinos the regionals are still enjoyable and good value for money.   I for one, will be back at Walsall for the next one.

Perhaps people will now "do the other thing."  I don"t think anyone is disputing all the delicious things you get for a free APAT memberships, it"s a great association and I"m shoooowa everyone enjoys being a part of it, ..just that what was promised and agreed upon has not been delivered as far as regional games are concerned.

If you booked a hotel room for £20 which promised a king sized bed, jacuzzi, free mini-bar, 24 hour room service and healthy selection of adult culture motion pictures, but when you got there you found yourself in a perfectly reasonable single room with a shower and a radio, which would still be good value for £20, you"re still entitled to feel a little let down.  Nothing to lose sleep over, but you"d surely entitled to highlight these inconsistencies without being told to go to some other hotel if you don"t like it sir.

Ooops...sorry..I"m was so used to hearing that expression from my Dad, I fogot that sometimes it doesn"t translate.

By "do the other thing" I (and me old Dad) just meant exercise your option to to not take part.

The information regarding dealers was there to be read (although I missed it first time too) but I had heard the same information in Walsall beforehand. Unfortunate that the main APAT site was a little out of date.

Certainly, everyone is entitled to express an opinion and no offence was intended and, I hope, none taken.

As in my other posts on the forum maybe we should move the regionals to proposed dealers.
When players come to register they also put thier name down to deal if knocked out, there by speeding up play and keeping players involved. The final table would still be dealed by Casino staff.

APAT would have set this process up with the Casinos

One of the players that got knocked out at Manchester started to deal on our table & then was told by one of the card room chaps "that it wasn"t allowed under the rules". I could see his point, but all the players at the table were happy for this guy to deal?  ::)
