Manchester. What happens over the 2 days
« on: November 15, 2007, 10:56:04 AM »
Have recently qualified for the upcoming UKchampionship to be held in Manchester, and was wondering what time does play start and go on till, dinner breaks and if lucky enough what time reconvene on sunday and some idea when final table finishes, is there plenty of spaces in casinos car park. Was tempted to come by train but not sure i could get one back if i was to go deep, gives more options for hotels if stay bit further out and drive straight to casino. Have never been to a casino before, so any help with above would be greatly appreciated

Hi Pink

WD on qualifing for the event.

The first day"s play will start at 2.30 pm, and normally there are breaks every 3 levels I think, along with an hour breal for food about 7 - 8pm ish.
Play for day 1 would normally finish around 1ish, with 40 ish going through to day 2 for the final day.

There are lots of ish in the above, but its there or there about. Somebody might be able to give more deffinate times.

Car parking is plenty in Manchester, and I would advise u come in it incase u go deep and then cant get back or the other option would be to get a hotel, then u can go and watch some of day 2 whether ur in or not then, and have a beer on the Sat night.

GL in the tourney, and remember dont call my raise ur behind..  ;)

All the above is right with the possible exception of the end of Day 1.

Tighty & Des will "normally" end Day 1 at then end of Level 13 or 14 (which is 2K/4k, IIRC) OR around 1/2 am OR when the last 2 tables are set (normally around 20 people) if earlier or something else entirely.

Of course, all of this may change due to how many are left and conditions at the time, but making it to Day 2 should mean you cash Obviously, if everyone is ridiculoulsly tight then more may go through and someone may make it to Day 2 with nothing to show (except a good time).

What happens over the 2 days?

1. Des buys all the drink
2. Mickey P stays sober
3. Daniel plays great poker
4. Rob, Swindels everyone out of their chips
5. Ian knocks out Caz
6. I win the tournament

I should add that this is my own opinion and not based on any knowledge or fact of which there is none.  ;D

Not strictly speaking true - however I"m not someone who"s insecure enough to feel the need to prove or disprove such a claim - so I"ll just leave it as, "you"re wrong".

Very true - however I"m not someone who is able prove or disprove such a claim - so I"ll just leave it as, "you"re wrong" and continue with my unfounded and unsubstantiated claims.  Although I did once win a razz tournament, it"s fortunate that no one else plays it and I could luckbox my way through it.

Its simple-- starts at 2:30 -- i"m out early and retire to the bar -- donate some cash at the cash table -- deal a sit and go -- lose -- go to the bar, I return Sunday and again retire to the bar -- normal weekend really  ::)
