Ah cheers Rich.. I think we"re definitely in the "tired and shabby" kind of budget zone though.. will keep on looking though.. is there a list of where people of booked up into yet? Would rather stay close or in the same place as others.

Paulie.. whats the Riviera like? Just browsing through hotels with the Stockton Rock..

It seems a long way north of where the action is!

I looked at it, but decided any savings would be lost in taxis etc.

I"m looking at tired and shabby too, so am mainly looking at The Imperial Palace and the Flamingo and waiting for the special deals to hit November.

I think the only person who has definitely booked is Ger. He"s in Harrahs but he jumped the the gun because he had a load of comps which got him the week for about $80.

I will also be at Harrahs from 17th - 24th November (or thereabouts) but haven"t booked yet as I"m hoping my brother will be sharing with me and we can combine our comps to knock our cost down.

I think most people will be in the Bills, Flamingo, IP, Harrahs, Casino Royale area with a few (richer) outliers in Caesars, MGM, Tropicana.

As I may have mentioned before, to have a look at all the Harrahs Caesars Group hotels (except Bills) look at this LINK. Select "Las Vegas" and "All hotels", plug in your dates and it will compare them all for you.

Joobs and I are booked into Bally"s then the Venetian.

Always remember, you don"t have to stay at ONE hotel for the week. Cheaper hotels Thurs-Sun, more expensive ones Mon-Thu FTW.

For those who might want to be near (but not in the MGM)

Have you considered the Excalibur?

If you can get past the silly medieval claptrap the rooms aren"t bad and it has very easy access to NYNY and the MGM by skywalks.

This must be the hotel deal to end all deals

17th - 24th November £34 on expedia.......

Ok, its a couple of miles from the strip, but a deal is a deal. I will pass on it as I may get lost getting back each night lol

ps. its The Vegas Club

Add $40 a day for a taxi to and from the strip, assuming you want to spend time with the other APAT"ers who are there... unless you want to spend a couple of hours a day on The Deuce with the poor people!

If everyone else is staying on the strip, it really is false economy to stay too far away from them.
If you're not living on the edge, you're taking up too much space.

Looks like a few people on 2+2 have used it so I"m assuming it"s legit. The prices do seem very good.

Vegas 2011 - An APAT Adventure?

OK.perhaps the title is a little misleading as I suspect (for various reasons) that APAT won't be going to Vegas in 2011 as part of Season 5. I'd love to be proved wrong but we won't know until February at the earliest.

So wrong yet so right.  ;D

Indeed...I confess that, from discussions I"d had with various people, that Vegas wasn"t going to be on the cards if we were still with Betfair who, I assumed, would be coming back.

Clearly Mr Duffy has strong-armed some people and has finally got his wish. He"s been after a Vegas event for the past 4 years and , for a number of reasons, it didn"t happen.

Very glad that my assumptions were in error...and even gladder that APAT (assuming that the whole crew will be in attendance) will be there for the Vegas Adventure.

Hmmm...should I move this to the Live Tour section?

I have a couple of mates out in Vegas at the moment and they had this to report....

The Riviera.

Anyone wanting a football, cricket or rugby fix it"s the place to be. They"ve got a British pub there now with multiple screens and show all the Premier league games, with the sports book next door. We managed a full English including fried bread and HP sauce, a bit expensive but a decent plate of grub.
