Is anybody else thinking of flying out of Gatwick rather than Manchester ??

Why Gatwick? is it not easy for you to get to Manchester, Steve?

It"s quicker to get to Gatwick from Swansea (even though Swansea is mile from everywhere). However if everybody else is going from Manchester I will just do that.

I"m going from Gatwick, but 15th - 23rd not 17th - 24th... just saying.  ::)

I"ve just booked my flight

I"m going from Gatwick, but 15th - 24th not 17th - 24th... just saying.  ::)

for £485 with US Airways

What"s the route Jon?

I chose to have 2.5 hours transfer time - but I could have picked a later plane which would have definitely given me enough time to see this.

But realistically speaking I"m going to spend any spare time trying out the different food outlets.

  • I wish I was as good as someone better than me!
Afternoon all, sorry for the delay.

I have cut and pasted the e-mail from Total Rewards VIP Group Reservations here for you all to use. Red is for Hurrahs and Blue for Caesars

The reservations web-site however uses an unsecured (http) and not a secured (https) address. I raised this point with them and they confirmed that whilst they believe their site to be secure they cannot supply and secure (https) address for us. Therefore it is up to each individual to decide how to make their reservation. Personnally I have just called them and made mine, which took about 6 minutes. They will take the first nights fee plus 12% tax and charge it to you credit card to secure the booking. I was told that you can cancel this upto 72 hours prior to check-in, but please ask for yourselves.

Nearer the time I will ask about priorty check-in etc...and see what we can get.

Please provide this information to your guests:

Thanks Richard...I tried the Harrahs version of the link twice (once in Chrome and the second in IE)..both times it hung up on me and I got no confirmation message or screen

For all I know I now have two reservations but I"ll wait and see if anything comes through in the way of email.

Guess I"ll try the phone route on Monday.

Link don"t work on Firefox either - hangs as per Paulie.

Rang em and they had no record of the reservation, so I booked it over the phone, painless......

Cheers Rich

EDIT
Just got the email confirmation of the phone booking

Hmmm...

Apropos of nothing, it looks like my United Airlines miles are worth pretty much nothing for getting upgrades so I was hunting around for a possible use.

Apparently, with 90,000 miles I could get several days in Vegas (e.g. Mirage/Venetian) for basically nothing.

On the other hand, I could split them up into a couple of days in the Mirage after APAT Vegas Vengeance(tm) and three days for another APAT trip during the year.

Decisions, decisions.

hmmm the Harrahs rate is the same as if I booked with a TR discount, and I"m inclined to stay at Ballys anyway - with a couple of nights at Caesars to finish. And the Caesars rate is cheaper.

I don"t suppose they gave any indication of whether the online bit will get fixed?

I could book my couple of nights at Caesars with this - but I don"t really want to pay for an American phone call
