I would be carefull of buying electronics, US stuff come with 2 pin plugs, or they are at 110 volts

True...anything that"s not powered by a plug (iPod etc) you should be fine with though.

Also, even if it does come with a US plug (laptops for example) if it has a power "brick" you can check it see if it will step down 240v to 110v. Then it"s just a matter of buying the UK version of the power supply which is usually pretty cheap.

I replaced mine for £15.

Most notebook power supplies (mains adapters) will work on 110V too - just chop the supplied plug off and stick a 3-pin 13A plug on.

Jack that works for UK devices using US power....it MAY not work the other way as you"re trying to power a 110v device with 240v. I think it would be OK but it may overload the US device.

I am off work next week so I am getting the train from Swansea to Manchester Airport then a taxi to the PI. I am going to arrive at about 17:30. Should be in the bar by 6pm (for food and a very sensible and sober evening). I reckon breakfast the next morning will be an experience also.
